I think we need to exercise our brains to remember things without reminders. Set some targets and accomplish them during the day. Say 4 -5 targets for the day. Like, 'Eat an apple after lunch', 'Call my friend Jack this evening' and so on. Do this for couple of days and see if we accomplished all of them without fail and if failed, practice until we don't miss even one target. Or similar exercise to improve our memory.
