*Insert LD Myth Here* Dream Project for anyone interested in joining me.

Basically there are a heck of a lot of random dream myths which go something like '____

makes you more likely to LD,' and I think it's time these were tested on one thread and

the results posted, so that newbies are not confused by all sorts of conflicting

information. The desired end result is a comprehensive Wiki of experiments and

experiences What do you think? Feel free to ask questions and expose flaws,

because I don't want this to hit a wall once people start putting effort in.

      Thanks

      Cyanidebaby

PS. I was also thinking of making Youtube reviews of the myths

Myth 1: Lucid Dreaming is DEVIL WORSHIP. Or allows spirits to attack you.

1.) Many people (dream scientists included) thought Lucid Dreaming did not exist. This has now been proven wrong by having a lucid dreamer communicate with scientists via eye movement.
2.) The 'Pinch me I'm dreaming' reality check. Testing your state by pinching yourself in a dream is NOT an effective RC. You mind can still produce a simulation of the feeling of pain without an external stimulus.

Thanks for getting involved so quickly guys If there's a myth that you want to test out, then feel free to flag it up and we can try and find more that one person to test it, I think the one that I'm going to take on for the next week is
“Playing video games before bedtime may give people an unusual level of awareness and control in their dreams" as suggested by this article:

Video Games Possibly Improve Lucid Dreaming « Derren Brown Blog

When that time has elapsed, I will post my methodology and my experiences. If anybody wants to attempt this too, PM me and we share ideas.

I play video games (PC) all the time. No, not bejeweled, global agenda, half-life, and tf2 etc. etc. FPS fast reaction type games.. And without any effort, my dream recall/vividness sucks.. I need to use my DJ to have good recall!!
      Goals:
Consistently for two weeks recall at least one dream per night [ ]

Well I play video games extensively, too (Strategy, FPS, MMORPG, about 4-5 hours a day -.-). I never had problem with recall though and I usually remember 3-4 dreams fully a night without using a DJ. The only thing I noticed is that I can't fall asleep quickly when playing before going to sleep.

My Myth would be: You need a dream journal to have good recall: I don't think so, I never had one and for me it's enough not to move after waking up and to analyze the dream. I also remember almost all the dreams I ever had since starting lucid dreaming (No offense to those who write in their DJ, I love reading them )

Search tool is your friend, there is a thread that already went through this. Also, the DJ became a myth since when!? Is DV inventing more myths by the day or what?

I'm sorry I didn't saw the thread related to this. But I thought this thread is somehow a summary of all the new and old Myths based on lucid dreaming. And for your question with the DJ myth: I think so because lately I read many posts where people say that you have to write in a DJ to have good recall. Maybe there are many others like me that don't use the search function often so it might be a good idea to list it in here.

Oh, the search thingy was for the OP, sorry for that.
There is a thread about LD/D myths in general, like being unable to read, do maths, text always changing, RCs always working, etc, etc.
