      Lucid Dream or Not?

I am not sure if this was a lucid dream or not but I had a false awakening and I was telling someone (don't know who) that it wasn't real life and I did a reality check by trying to put one hand through the other. One hand didn't go through the other but my finger went a little further than usual but they still didn't believe me. I also still felt it might be reality but I tried to open a car door and it opened, I tried it with another and it also opened so I figured I could drive any car that I want. I really wanted to drive a really nice car but all of the cars seemed to be older kinds of cars. I found a car I kinda liked and I don't know how I started it but I started driving around and it was hard to turn for some reason. Eventually I got bored and tried to draw a place to drive around in. I did several more reality checks with my hand and I tried to look for a clock but couldn't find one. I am still not sure if I was really lucid or not.
My question is how would I know if I was lucid dreaming or not?. I had a dream like this before and in the dream I had a false awakening and tried to do different things like fly but it felt like a normal dream (nonlucid). By the way I had smoked marijuana several times throughout the day. Thanks in advance.

Weird. I guess if you felt like you knew it was a dream, and when you say your tried to draw somewhere to race round in, it sounds like you were trying to control the dream, so I guess you were. Depends how you feel about it.

Ive have dreamt that I dreamt I was having a lucid dream... as in I dreamed that I fell asleep and had a lucid, because I had been thinking about it so much during the day. But i didnt feel like it was a true lucid, just a regular dream where I was dreaming that I was having a lucid experience. I know that doesnt make any sense, but thats how it was.

It sounds like a lucid dream to me. You did the initial finger through the hand reality check and while it may not have completely worked you still noticed something strange. It seems to me that you had lucid dream in which the clarity or understanding that it was a dream wasn't quite there. Next time this occurs seriously question whether you are in a dream. One of the best things you can do is try to fly. You will either have success and know that it is a dream or you will jump really high and understand that something of that caliber is not possible in real life so it must be a dream.
