      Dream Journal?

Sorry to show my ignorance on a post like this again, I hope you guys don't mind my nub questions, hehe.

Okay so as I started researching about lucid dreaming, I always saw that writting your dreams down every morning helps alot. Why, and how? I've heard it helps you rememberinh dreams, or doing it until you find a pattern, or idk.
I don't know if its a coincidence, but I've been able to remember alot more dreams than I did before having a dream journal. I read my first dreams and they were vague images, where I barely got the main setting of the dream. But last night, I was able to remember 5 clear dreams, being one of them a lucid one.

      Thanks!

Well, first it is because of placebo, then it is because, by writting dreams down, your brain starts getting more accustomed to them being "important" and thus, it will stop always forgetting them right away.

When I do it I get the impression that because I'm so fresh from the dream state, it's a lot easier to recall.

Also, the nature of dream recall is that it slips away quickly, so every word you write down cements in your memory more - have you ever had the impression when you wake up that you're forgetting more and more of a dream every second that passes?
