      met another LDer

At lunch today I asked one of my friends if he knew anything about lucid dreaming and he said that he had never heard of it before. I told him that it was simply the knowledge that you are dreaming and then he said that he has lucid dreams quite often. He got all excited and started talking about how you can do anything in them. He also told me that is regular dream recall is really high and that he writes all his dreams down and so I showed him my dream journal. He read a few entries and then passed it to my other friend who thought it was crazy and cool that we write our dreams.

Though he didnt know the term he is a strong lucid dreamer and even keeps a dream journal without knowing the benefits of it fully. next time I talk to him I will give him info about this site.
I accept that my reality is always a dream so if something changes I know I'm right.

That's frikking awesome. I told one of my friends about it and they were pretty interested, so we had a teacher/student thing going on... but I would love to find someone IRL that do this too! I like being completely unique at my school as far as this goes, but it's also lonely seeming to be the only oneironaught (Well, aspiring anyways.) in your area...

Ahh that is so cool! What a coincidence, sometimes it's just nice to talk face to face to people about dreams, my friends can never really remember theirs much and I don't like to keep going on about them incase it begins to get on their nerves!

There is a guy I've known online for a long time, and a couple weeks ago I mentioned to him that I've been trying to lucid dream. He said he doesn't like dreaming, because his dreams are 'stupid', so he often just tries to wake up. I was like, wait... try to wake up? I asked if he knows he's dreaming while he's dreaming, and if that happens often. And he said he does, as though it was an obvious stupid question, explaining that his dreams aren't like real life, so he can tell he's dreaming because everything is different, as though that explained it and wasn't true for everyone. I asked if he knows that's what lucid dreaming is, and he gave an 'err i suppose', but didn't seem interested or to care at all. I asked how he doesn't care, why he doesn't try to do anything since it's like he's in a virtual reality. He basically just replied that there's no point in doing anything because it isn't real. I even suggested dream sex, since I know that's what draws many people in, and he said that's what the internet is for..

My boyfriend isn't a natural lucid dreamer but his mindset is similar to the other guy's. He doesn't see a point in lucid dreaming. Even after I've described to him that it can feel completely real, exactly like real life, as though you're in a virtual reality, he says the idea just doesn't appeal to him and that it wouldn't be very exciting. I don't understand these people.

It's so strange isn't it, you can do anything in dreams yet loads of people don't seem to care, it's the beat escapism there is, where the focus is on you and it's all yours, it can it be so amazing and beautiful... I can't believe that guy you know online sounds really good at Lucid dreaming. WHY OH WHY!
at least us lot will always appreciate dreaming

I dont understand people like that either. Me and him arent the only other dreamers I know at my school either. Its largely unkown but not entirely. There is a small group of us. The thing is though that we arent really all friends and dont communicate much

yeah this is like the 5th LDer not including myself at school that I know of. Too bad we arent in any of the same circles of friends. I barely talk to them I normally find out that they lucid dream when im talking to someone else about it and they say something. 6 LDers / 2500 students

I tried to explain the whole to to my best friend. I used the same tactics. I told him about all the cool amazing thing you can do, including lucid sex to make him want to try it. He wasn't interested at all... I was baffled. I do not understand how doing anything you could ever want to do isn't appealing in any way. He claimed that he didn't want to loose his grasp of reality, which is bull in my opinion. Makes me so sad how people don't desperately want to do this.

Im sorry fulfilling everyone of my fantasies just doesnt appeal to me. I dont care for being just short of a god. There is no point to making the best out of the close to 20 years you spend sleeping.
