You don't need an alarm no. Try not to swallow hard, but do it very gently. Or lie on your side and let the spit just go on your pillow |

Recently I've been practising DEILD and I have some questions. First, will swallowing make me fail when DEILD? And also, do I really need an alarm? I can't use one because I would wake up other people in the same bedroom as me. And I also already can become aware when I wake up from a dream. So if I woke up normally from a dream, witouth using an alarm or anything like that, could I succesfully DEILD? |

1. Swallow if you need too but just don't focus too much on it or you will keep doing it. |

Okay, thanks for the advice! Tough it's kinda hard for me not to swallow, but I will try. Also Zach1, if I wake up and go to the bathroom won't I lose the chance to DEILD? |

I guess it depends on the person and their situation. I find it easy to wake up and walk around and go right back to sleep. As long as its quite and not too bright when I wake up. Kind of that zombie walk of not really being fully awake or alert. But for some people once they are awake and out of bed they cant get back to sleep. |

Waking up and walking around or getting up and using the bathroom will effect your chances at DEILD. You're probably going to WILD if you get out of your bed. Stay put, swallow slightly and just imagine being back in your dream or whatever technique you want to use and you should be fine. -Chase |
