Lightbulb How to view your intermost hidden memories...in a dream

if you can dream lucidly then in your dream go to a computer and open google.com and search for anything, the results will be directly from your memory, completely uninhibited by anything.
This is just a theory, but in my dream i have involuntarily opened google.com and searched for a deep memory, it came up...

This sounds very intriguing! I shall have to try this next time I get the chance. Does it work like watching a film, or..?

um, im not sure what you mean exactly, i mean like I said I had accidentally tried it, and If I remember correctly I have a certain amount of control in my dreams (not a lucid dreamer) so I got the idea(yes in a dream) and did a search for the location of my long lost ipod in "dream google",
like you know on facebook Likes there is one like that says Like if you could do this: ask google,"where the F**K is my iPod, and google would say under the couch you dumb***.
So the "dream google" said that it was in my moms car, and next morning i looked there first thing and there is was!

Very inspiring. I wonder if we can trust in some advices we may eventually receive in our dreams wether from google or from a dream character. We all know it comes out of our own mind but how much can we trust ? Would any of you use the information received to make a decision in wake life ?

so i guess if you search for a date and time, it might work, and i guess it could play back in video or photo form. But i dont thing that the mind is like that, for example, when i was like 7(14 now) my big sister(like 40 somethin now) got me a nerf gun that used yellow styrofoam balls for a party present. I had completely forgotten about the party, and the toy gun until I saw in science class a month ago an extremely similar ball. Then I had a flash back to that event(the bday party)
BOTTOM LINE: so the mind memory sector(hippocampus) works like a blog post, by tagging a memory with relevant details, pictures, objects, etc... then when such a tag is seen, smelt, encountered the memory floats up.

ALSO why does the (lets call it dream google) "Dream Google" method works, is because first of all, when you dream, your dreams do not nessasarily make sense, because when you dream you are in a subconscious state, all inhibitions are turned off;For Example: this night I had a dream where there was some sort of gas that turned you into a devil or something or mutated you(i honestly dont know i am simply saying what i remember) released at a certain time on a certain place (my school) and it could not be avoided (also it was raining, in the dream as it was in the real world) so we were all packed into a room(also I don't know who was supposed to release this gas, it must have been a supernatural event) and waiting for it when an animal that was a mix between a weasel, devil, and mutant, entered and exploded(it was not a bomb, it was a living thing) lightly, not enough to kill the occupants but somehow the blood from it splattered and killed us slowly, that was the only logical part of the dream.
So the point is that I would have never ever thought of that in my conscious state, or even a daydream. Also the mind has more access to resources, very similair to a computer, when you play a resource consuming game, the computer works slower on other tasks. In this case the game is reality(motor functions, vision processing, bodily func., etc.) when that is "turned off" so to speak, the mind can do amazing things like dream very vividly. Another analogy is in an emergency, think of any you wish, like something chasing you, the body releases adrenaline into your blood stream, and unlocks the full potential of your calfs, legs, and thighs. (you only use about 30% of the full potential of your limbs) What the body does is it unlocks the ATP cells(stored proteins, and energy, but short lasting.) that allow you to run with "super human strength". Same thing applies to the subconsious dream state, the mind can use its full potential and do pretty much what ever.

yes, and no. I would not use it do life changing decisions because the mind has been known to fundle up memories, like mix and change them, like I use to go to an old park when i was little, and have not gone to it in several years(5) and when i went there a week ago, it was 10 feet higher than i remember it to be(it was a hill in the park and I found old photos of that park, so no construction had been done.) Also it was on a different street than I had thought. So the brain can change memories

Interesting method to search for something. Because you already know how google works, you can use it to have your subconscious mind provide you with information you may seek. It's a great idea and I'll certainly give it a go if I can remember to.

I think the best way to test if it would work would be to ask the "dream google" a question you don't know the answer to but someone you know does, or an event that happened to you that you forgot but you know that your mom remembers it, or your friend ect...

I tend to stay away from my computer while lucid because my keyboard usually gets all screwed up. If I want to know something I just ask my DG or a random DC.

I would try this, but so far I've never been able to have a lucid dream that was longer then 2 or 3 minutes.

If you are searching for some deep memory in your dream google, it's is extremely unlikely that the memory is real.

If you can touch-type this won't be a problem.

I was very excited when I read this thread. I have been a LD for years now (but didn't realize at first what it was I was doing). A few months ago I was looking at some old pictures and came across a picture of my grandmothers house. I have a terrible memory and don't remember much about her house. I fell asleep thinking of her. I became lucid in a dream later that night and realized that I was in her house. I was able to decide where to go in the house and look around. I looked in drawers, closets and everywhere I could think. Even in my dream I was thinking " oh my god...I remember that (each time i looked somewhere new). I woke up and called my sister. We dicussed what I saw and she remembered everything. All of the things I saw in the house were accurate. Since then I have done this a few times. Each time I try to find some memory that has a strong feeling attached to it. I then fall asleep thinking (and feeling) that memory. When I awake in my dream I am able to expand on it. It is so cool!!!
