      Am I A Weird dreamer?

After reading some DJ's and just peoples posts- I'm starting to notice some differences in dreams from other people to mine.

Let me just start by saying I'm not a lucid dreamer at all. I have had one lucid dream- and I had no control what so ever. When people talk about their dreams and talk about having dreams, they talk as if the dreams are happening right now. When you guys dream- is it like that? Every time I wake up right after a dream and I can completely remember the dream, it feels like it was just a distant memory. It feels like it happened a week ago- and its just something my brain made up right when I was waking up. Even when I had my lucid dream, it felt really distant and like it wasnt happening.

Oh, just another thing that makes me think I'm a weird dreamer: I see a lot of people saying they want to have lucid sex/dream sex. I for one, have had sex at least 3 times in my dreams, and one of the times I was lucid. Is that normal for a lucid sex dream to be someones first lucid dream?

      Thanks

Well, I don't know about how different you're dreams are from others, but sometimes I feel that way. Truth is, it's just too hard to relate every detail into words, but I'm sure there are subtle differences in how each of us dreams depending on the state of our subconscious, maybe. As for the lucid sex, my first lucid probably would have turned into one, but I had no idea what was happening and why I knew I was dreaming or the possibilities. I stayed lucid for a bit and lost it, but I know I was imagining a man. So. I think dreaming does bring out sexual urges, because of how real everything feels and just the state of being we're in when we are dreaming. Probably something to do with Freud. I don't think there is such thing as a weird dreamer, aren't all dreams strange? And even if you were, enjoy it. =)

I think I understand what you're saying. And I often feel that way too.
After waking up, my dreams always feel like memories of past events. I remember that the dream felt real at the time, just like when I remember past experiences in my waking life.
Although, sometimes after lucid dreams I feel like I just returned from some adventure, but it's still just a memory like any other.

It is not uncommon for dreams, lucid or nonlucid, to involve sex. So it seems reasonable that someone's first lucid dream would be a sex dream.

From this post, there doesn't seem to me anything abnormal about your dreams.

      Take care.

Hm, well, I think it depends on the person as well as the dream. I have had dreams that were so lengthy and involving I woke up feeling like I was gone for days, and just got back. Other times I wake up and feel like the dream was merely a brief story I was dwelling on, not dissimilar to daydreaming. It can vary, though I can imagine for some they have a more limited range of results. Either way, I wouldn't say recalling dreams like that is unusual as it happens to others as well.

As for the sex issue, I have never had a lucid dream involving sex (nor do I ever wish to have one) but I have had a few sexual non-lucids, especially when in my mid-teens (haven't had one for a few years, thank goodness, as they always make me feel awkward when I wake up. ). However, it does seem like a popular subject around here for lucid dreams, so don't feel singled out about that.

My dreams often feel like hazy memories. I suppose it's just the nature of dreams, how your waking brain and dreaming brain are different. I've been on and off with LDing; it's one of those things I really want to do but my own personal problems keep me from staying with it for too long, but I've had a few basic experiences.

And to answer your topic question, I don't think you're a weird dreamer. I've had sex dreams, both lucid and non, though the lucid ones are often cut short from I guess lack of experience. It's not uncommon for me to become lucid and immediately run off to find some girls; feelings like that are stronger in dreams, but I just need to reaffirm my goals for when I do become lucid.
