Is it possible to dream that you're lucid but not actually be lucid?

Title says it all, long story short, I have reason to believe last night I had 2 lucid dreams (ftw!) however the second one, I'm not sure I actually became lucid. I think I 'dreamed' I became lucid but wasn't actually lucid. (Weird I know)

Has this ever happened to anyone? Is it possible?
      Thanks

The other night I dreamed that I was pretending to be in a dream, but I didn't realize that I actually was in a dream. That's kind of like what you're saying.
      It's all in your head.

Ya happens to me every once in a while. If you know that it is a dream then it is technicaly a lucid although you might not be thinking very clearly or not very aware and you could say you are not really lucid if you are taking lucid can mean clear like thinking clearly.

Well some people do think it's possible to dream that you are lucid. But even if you are dreaming of it you still know you are in a dream and in control. So it is essentially a non issue and really can't be proven.

I often dream that I am lucid dreaming when I am not actually lucid dreaming. I know just what you mean. You THINK you are lucid dreaming but that is just a plot device within the dream and you aren't actually awakened in it. You still believe in the dream and you may have a few lucid powers, but total dream control is not one of them. Of course, lucidity is a whole spectrum and this level of lucidity is still not realized, but it is the subconscious trying to figure out what you are striving for without it really making it to consciousness.

Yea it happened to me. In my dream I was talking to one of my freinds abou lucid dreaming (which i don't talk to them about IRL) so we decided to try get into a shared dream. I closed my eyes and instantly found myself standing in this open space that seemed to be on top of a cloud. I see my freind and we explore the dream world. In the dream inside my dream I got killed and woke up back to the first dream. I walk to the next room and see my freind sleeping there so I go back to my room and close my eyes and appear next to him in the "lucid" dream. I didn't realize until I woke up that I was having a lucid dream in a dream.
