Why I don't close my eyes anymore...

The spin-teleport method, I've found, is a popular way of teleporting in a lucid dream. It doesn't work for me though, because for one thing, when I spin in a dream, I get "dizzy." That's not the important part, though. The important part is that everything goes away when I close my eyes while dreaming. Allow me to explain...
So, take my lucid dream from two nights ago. I was closing my eyes and visualizing, hoping to make a cat appear. I opened my eyes and saw a flash of the dream, but I was opening my real eyes, too. I struggled to close my real eyes and to keep the dream, but it didn't work. I woke up.
Then, in another LD two nights before that, everything went black about fifteen minutes into the dream. I closed my eyes and tried to open them again. The same thing happened.
      Does anyone else do this?
      Hey, I'm back!

I never had problems with closing my eyes in my dreams, then again I usually still see something after closing them. (like a weak afterglow of what I previously saw)
Anyways, here's a few tips and tricks.

If you want to use the spinning method to teleport, you could just try doing it without closing your eyes.
I never close them when spinning, and my vision turns into a colorful motion-blur.
Once the colors change, I know I'm in a new scene. I'm not a big fan of that technique though, and I don't use it very often.
You could try other means of teleportation, such as imagining a new scene behind a door.

In order to summon something, instead of visualizing it with your eyes closed, you could try to search for it in a place that is not immediately visible, but could make sense for the object to be in. (expect it to be there!)
You could for example search for the cat in the next room or below your desk, whatever comes into your mind.

Blacking out is a common problem.
Here's a few things you can try:
      - Search for light. The chances of being in a place with no light at all is very low, there should be a light source somewhere, walk towards it.
      - Spin with your eyes open.
      - If you feel the dream cannot be stabilized: Close your eyes and keep them closed. Anticipate that you are going to wake up now and focus on not moving and try to keep your eyes closed. Try to DEILD.
      Dreams are simple.
It's the painfully simple things the human mind cannot comprehend.
After all your mind is trained to understand the complexity of the waking world,
not the simplicity of the dream world.

As I said before, when I try to spin-teleport, I get "dizzy" in the dream. But I could just walk/run/fly to the place. That would be simpler.

I don't like to close my eyes in dreams, either. I've had too many premature wake-ups, or false awakenings from closing my eyes.

I can normally teleport short distances by just imagining myself standing where I want to be. This works best when I can see the place I want to go. If I want to go to someplace completely new, I will normally just tell myself it is just around a blind corner, or behind a door. Just expect it to be there, and don't worry about the details.

I have the exact same problem. When i close my eyes then open them, I open my real eyes. Or If i just got lucid, and try to move my arm, I move my real body's arm and i woke up -_-
Here's some advice for your case.

If you're trying to summon, in example creating a cat, do not close your eyes. Just think of a cat and say to yourself "There is a cat in here somewhere." When you turn around or look somewhere else, there will be a cat because your brain gets the message from you and creates it. Even in a dream, the brain tries to look it real. So summoning seems unreal to brain, but finding it "coincidencely" seems real to your brain so thats the way it works.

And about the teleporting, there are other ways to travel. In example the best travelling way is i think the portal way. In the same way create a portal and tell yourself it would make you appear in where you want to be. Its much more stable then teleportating. I hope these will work
