      Hi, welcome to Dreamviews!

Lots of people who just start out with LDing wake up in their first few goes. It will get better as you have more; you won't become so overly excited. In the meantime, all I can really suggest it to ground yourself in the dream as much as possible - rub your hands, and don't think about yourself lying in bed. Don't think about waking life. Look around you and take in the scenery. It'll help keep you in the dream.

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Recall and lucidity are two fairly different things. But if you have good recall, if you have a lucid dream you'll be much more likely to remember it.
