A lot of people use bizarre unrealistic dreams as the prompt for lucidity. Opposite for me!
My lucids usual originate from standard regular dreams that just involve me walking around a regular place such as my home, etc. I suddenly realise I'm dreaming and a whole host of awareness comes flooding in.
In comparison, the craziest dreams never promote lucids because I'm too caught up in how @!#$ed up the situation is - last night after watching "Blood Diamond" - a horrifically violent movie, I dream I am in an unknown house tasked with playing some kind of game involving me getting to the top of the house. I have to perform each action/movement correctly. I get to the first floor, two people are there, I try and talk to them. Immediately they freeze, someone comes up and shoots them in the eyes. I start again, walk past them to the door ignoring them, walk through the door, and then meet another guy. I speak to him, he freezes - I'm trying to tell him not to worry, he's about to get shot but he's going to respawn so don't worry about it but too late, he's been shot in the head. How much weirder do you want than that? No lucidity though
