      Funny awakenings

This is not about false awakenings. This thread is about real awakenings and the transition from dream thoughts to reality. Namely the funny stuff.

I recently woke up from a dream and went to do a reality check, the finger through hand. When I went to RC my left hand came up as usual, but then my right hand passed it and continued to my mouth, as if to gag myself. My mouth had even hung open. I realized what I was doing and paused in the thought, trying to figure out what I intended to do.

Another was a dream I had about bees. I disturbed a beehive and they had swarmed me. I'm allergic to bees so my anxiety went through the roof. One had stung my right leg, on the right of my calf muscle, and things began to go dark as I "danced", trying to swat the bees away. I woke up and my leg still had the sensation of being stung, but as soon as I touched my leg the sensation had gone away. It wasn't funny at the time, but now I get a good laugh at how scared I was, and frantically checking my leg.

      Any similar stories?

I remember something similar happening to me - I was shot with an arrow, felt the pain, and then woke up. My heart was beating really fast and I could feel the hole that the arrow had left in the side of my stomach. This was before I'd heard of reality checks and how to tell if you're awake or not, so I was freaking out and thought, for a moment, that maybe I really was shot in my sleep! |D

I've also woken up a few times and my hands or body would move, continuing the actions from the dream that just ended. It'd take me a few instances to wake up enough and snap out of it.

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Multiple times throughout my child hood I would wake up screaming with the greatest fear I have ever felt, but I would never remember the dream. Definitely the scariest moments of my life

I really haven't had other even remotely interesting awakenings than the ones where my alarm clock failed and someone notices I ain't awake and tries to wake me up. Then I have absolutely no freaking idea what they are saying, and my mind fills it with something literally insane, and I respond accordingly. It's like, I hear the guy talking about the oven being shoved into the refridgerator, and I'm like what the heck. When they're actually just saying something like that it's 10am or so.

      I have another one....
This was a few years back, when I was like 12 or something. I was in my bed, dreaming about being in a castle with people who were serving cake with white and pink icing. I'd really wanted a piece, see. My mom walked into my room and the dream started to fade when she said, "[Puffin], time to get up." I was still seeing a wash of the dream over my eyes and not completely feeling my real body, plus I really wanted the cake, so I groggily mumbled, "no mom... I want cake".

She said my name again and I woke up.

A while back I had an operation and was put under general anaethetic. for the operation I wasn't allowed to eat for two days, so I was really hungry. As I started to wake up, before I was anywhere near concious I started moaning Toast... Toast.

Haha, I remember waking up from anesthetic and saying all sorts of weird things.
