Can you constantly have lucid dreams? Over and over?

Seeing as you teach yourself to lucid dream, does there ever come a point where you don't even have to try to lucid dream anymore it just happens?
I've been fascinated with lucid dreams for ages now. They are just so... I can't explain it, amazing, fascinating... OUTSTANDING.
You can make anything you wish, you can create new technologies, you can create music. You can be free. It's a bit like escaping from reality.

      Another question:

I've researched this a fair bit, about the amount of time you can spend in a lucid dream. If you teach yourself, could you make it feel that you've dream't for hours but you've only really been in a dream for a few minutes? And so on.
From minutes, to hours, to months, to years.

Would you want to dream for that long? You would know it was a dream, and in your head you would know you would have to leave at some point. So I can't see many people wanting to do whole years or months of things, only to know they would have to get up and continue their lives again.

Also people run out of ideas and get bored in lucids. If they lasted as long as you were entertained, they would be about and hour, or more. Then you run out of ideas or just get tired of flying etc. Not everyone though, and if they could I can see people trying to dream for days.

I'm not sure if you can teach yourself to dream for longer, I guess it comes with practice. Also, if you use DEILD, you can chain them.

If you practice, and are determined you can get up to the point where you have a lucid dream every night. Maybe even 2 a night. The only way I can think of to make it feel that your lucid dream went on longer then it actually did is to make night and day go by faster. That way you feel as if you've been in a dream a whole day or a few hours.

I agree with you on some points, SOME people may get bored; others wont. Now, the brain is something complex. It's amazingly complex in fact, it's something what causes us to evolve and think in different ways. The brain creates completely different situations. And once you stop you begin to crave what you once had.

It was me expressing joy. In a sense, you can. In a sense it's like you can do whatever you wish.
Alright, I said you can create new technologies, it can give you IDEAS.

Yeah Oneiro, even I know that you can do anything as long as you can imagine it.

ANYTHING...as long as you can IMAGINE it. And, your mind must be able to accept it. Waiting for an LD to befall me~thats what I'm currently doing...LOL.
      Goals:
      1. Attacking my enemies instead of running away from them~ Ultimately taking control of my dream situation.
      2. Remember that I can always summon a shield around me to protect myself in dreams. No need to fear!

Can I ask what you think you do normally to make yourself lucid dream every night? It could be something simple that we never knew about, and if we could identify it, it could develop into a technique.

So nothing new? Lol, that does tell us something though. Enough visualization and self questioning can get you up to a level of an LD per night. So there appears to be little of any limit to how many LDs you can have.

Those 2 are the Main ones I did. And something weird though...all my dreams are linked together (somehow) to form a series of events (a single long LD) in one night. -wonder what kind of dream I'll get tonight-

Hey Origami, that's an awesome avatar, whats it from?

For the topic, I don't think you can make a LD feel like it last for weeks or anything... BUT, if you work hard and are determined you can get to the point to which you have lucids every night, then you can DEILD chain 3 or so more.

yes i think you can get to a certain point where lucid dreaming becomes effortless and more frequent. I think thats why Deild works so well in that your already in the right frame of mind for lucids so Ld chaining becomes easy. also time perception in regards to staying in a dream for what feels like long periods of time is possible you just have to study those who have done it and practice practice practice with clear powerful intent on your goal. namste.

I mean every night I got a different one. Last night..I did barrier casting and flying, which are my reactions to the LD situation I have (hard to tell you what is it though). And once again, I did nothing before I slept...

It is possible to reach a point where you dont have to ry to lucid dream any more, but the real problem is keeping the dream stable. I am not sure someone could lucid dream for over an hour tho.
Try not. Do or do not. There is no try.

I disagree. I don't think you can just get to a point where you can kick back and let them roll in. If so, the same would go for talents and skills. If you were a master tennis player, and got to be the best in the world, then if you just stopped practicing you would slip up. I think lucid dreaming can get to a level where it is effortless, but that level is not permanent, you still need to practice.

I don't think it's possible to dream for over 90 minutes. Isn't that the length of the longest REM cycle?

We don't only dream in REM sleep.

Jackitate: all those things you list are totally possible -- even creating new technologies. To limit yourself to what the dream gives you, and to assume that you cannot create your own universe, replete with everything you every wanted in a universe, is to assume that someone else, and not you, is in charge of your dreams. Please try not to listen to Oneiro.

      Just a thought...

I automatically speed a few things up personally.

      1. false memories. I know that giant troll is my dad and the small bug is my brother...K, that out of the way let fly! I naturally get a TON of these every time I dream. I know what I should be doing, where I am, where the nearest exit, etc.

      2. Skip the boring stuff. Is it odd to say that I never took more then 3 steps in my dreams? With the help of false memories I can "walk" ten miles in 3 seconds.

      3. Blah blah blah...All of my DC (though is something I kinda hate personally as I would love to hear what they say) are faceless and speechless...Most don't even move. Maybe once in a while I will see one with a face and a voice but often they only give one liners. This could be useful if you feel like playing GTA and don't want the cops to get in your way.

      4. Mirrors, fly, teleport, etc can take you to a new area. Kinda require dream control though.

I personally spent about 3 hours in one dream that I somewhat recall...

I also remember when I was VERY young I had a dream that lasted a year+ which I can't recall now but I remember when I woke up I have to recall where I was in life. Was kinda scary knowing all of that was just false memories.

I know how long my dream last usually by the false memories themselves. If they tell me that I been walking for a hour then I been walking for a hour.
Noticed things in my lucid dreams: Not scare of death (kinda forgotten Freddy special power of killing in dreams, opps?) Huge ego which cause me to summon monsters, most DC are useless and don't even speak.
