      Was it a lucid dream?

When I was a kid I had this nightmare of a evil clown like from IT that was lurking about during my birthday party but I was the only who took notice to it and so it started freaking me out lol maybe it killed people I don't really remember that part anyways I woke up frightened and I was pissed off because I had another nightmare, didn't like them very much

Anyways I was pissed off and I didn't want to be haunted by another nightmare so I decided to go back into a dream and kick that evil clown's ass. Anyways I remember the dream it was quite fun hunting down the clown and beating the crap out of it, some ninja moves and stuff. I remember even blowing him up with a bazooka cause he was running away from me. Still remember the details after so many years, who doesn't remember chasing an evil clown

Tbh I am not sure if this is lucid, maybe it is since my aim was to hunt that clown down so it wouldn't haunt my dreams and It didn't after that. I felt like a accomplished something big, good times

I see you're new to the forum, so let me say welcome to Dreamviews! =)

The definition of a lucid dream is, as simple as you can put it, when you're aware that you're dreaming while in the dream itself. Usually you're more conscious of what's around you on some level (mental clarity), and can make decisions based on the knowledge that you're dreaming.

It's hard to say whether you were lucid, because only you know for sure. But judging from what you've posted, I'd say yes! Congrats!

How did you end up falling back asleep and becoming lucid - did you have a WILD, or did you just strongly set your intentions to know you were dreaming and to find the clown?
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

A lucid is simply realizing you are dreaming while in the dream, as Puffin said. I'm also freaked out whenever I see clowns now because of IT.

Thanks for the welcome, To be frank the definition WILD is not making much sense to me.

I remember waking up after the nightmare early in the morning and I was frightened and angry. I was afraid that the clown would haunt my dreams literally, I once had this nightmare and I kept having it several nights. That is what I was afraid would happen so my solution was to go back into a dream and destroy the clown which I did and I sort of felt in control of the dream like it was real. I am starting to remember more and more of the dream now lol.

Basically the nightmare was not lucid, It scared the bejeezus out of me so I took action. Went back into dream and it was sort of a continuation of the nightmare, same location and same feelings and the people still oblivious of the clown. I clearly remember I was still scared but my target was to get rid of the clown any means possible. The bazooka part was funny thou, I blew up that clown good and the car it was hiding behind it was was some action movie material I tell ya. I'm starting to think it was lucid, didn't know you could have one without it even know what a lucid dream is lol.

I need to stop writing lol, it's becoming a bad habit.

It sort of sounds like you had some sort of dream control, but you weren't lucid. Like playing a video game without even thinking about it.
