      communicating with reality while lucid.

It's been a long while since I have 'ilucidated', in the past I've done strange things like having 5 false awakenings in a row, where I kept 'waking up', only to find my self 'waking up' into yet another dream where I was marvelling at the great dream I just had which was itself a dream that I 'awoke' from only to marvel again at my foolishness etc... In the end I had a strange experience where I was still in the final dream and I knew it, therefore I knew that I must be in my bed in my room and my gf would be next to me. So I tried to talk to her from the dream without waking up. I wanted to describe where I was.

I didn't know for sure if she could hear me, it was very difficult I tried to shout but my voice seemed choked in my throat. I then tried to thrash around to make sure that I could get her attention and say some stuff so that later when I woke I could check to see I was imagining all this or I was really talking to her while being aware of what I was saying.

As it turned out she was later able to verify that I was indeed trying to get some words out but they were a bit strangled. She just thought I was dreaming...er which I was. I then told her about what happened. She did not seem as excited as I was that I was dreaming while at the same time being able to be aware of my real surroundings.

I'm getting a REM dreamer delivered in a few days but this morning I had a whole bunch of mini choppy lucids. My instinct as soon as I realise I'm dreaming is to fly. It's the first thing I want to do. I'll just jump off the first thing I see. Must learn to calm down a bit.

Thats pretty cool. You could take it to the next level and have her try to talk back. Tell her that if she ever hears you mumbling in your sleep to whisper back at you. Her voice might get incorporated in the dream. I bet there is a good chance that you could understand her. The problem is doing so without waking up.

Alas after 22 years of a rather trippy, unreal and crazy journey over 3 continents, about 10 months ago she got on her little 250 motorbike and got captured by the 'dark forces', that is her schizophrenic alter ego. Not sure if she'll ever snap back into her real self again. I'm currently trying to put out the results of the journey on my website.

What I'm getting at is that I don't think I'm going to get the opportunity to try this again which is a shame as it would be interesting to have someone who knows what's going on be able to communicate to a lucid dreaming person.

I just remembered how it happened, after what I thought was my final real awakening, I thought I was just lying in bed, there was no dreaming just blackness cause it was night and my eyes were closed. It was just like I was lying awake in bed with my eyes closed. Then suddenly the lights came on, (in my dream) and I was in a train carriage that was decked out like a dining car, without windows. It was then that I realised I was still dreaming and it was yet another false awakening but until the lights came on it was a real awakening in a sense that I knew where I really was.
