Question was that a lucid dream or not?

so this was my first expierience with lucid dreaming (if it actually was lucid dreaming).
i woke up around 4:25 am today and started the WILD method because i researched it yesterday, and it seemed to fit me the most. anyway, so i did the routine, and um.. i'm not really sure what happened.
i ended up kinda dreaming, but i felt my body in the bed, and it just seemed like a thought to me. as if i was daydreaming. i could do anything i wanted, like control my body in the thought and stuff, but i read that when you lucid dream, it is very vivid and you can use your six senses. well that didn't seem to work. the thoughts were kinda dusty and grey-ish, plus i couldn't smell or feel anything. it only lasted about 2 minutes or so anyway.
it was something i've never expierienced before, and i was able to tell that i was dreaming.

but my question is; was i lucid dreaming or not?

If you knew that you were dreaming while you were in it (which as I've read you did), then yes, it was a lucid dream! Congratulations!

Don't worry about it not being very vivid, as dream quality can vary each time. It is something you can learn to control as well, by stabilizing. Here is a stabilization link which I think will help you out. Good luck!

EDIT: I am not sure if it was a WILD though, as in WILDs, you usually don't forget the transition. And since you stated that you ended up kinda dreaming, and can't remember what happened in between, then it was most likely a DILD. Nevertheless, congrats on your lucid!

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

Seems more like a vivid daydream, but I don't know enough about WILD to give you a real answer, sorry.

Daydreams can be very vivid almost like real dreams, but it may have been something else. In WILD you can start a minor dream before you reach REM. in that case it is a lot like you described. However, you should have lost at least 80-90% awareness of your body. In WILD you may retain some bodily awareness but itvwould be slight and much less then un normal meditation or relaxation.

ok so i found out what that was; hypnagogia! it's basically the stage right before you 'pop' into the lucid dream. like half-dreaming.
but anyway, thanks everyone for the answers!
