i read this in an article at lucidity.com...

In the oldest available references on lucid dream induction, the
thousand year old text on Dream Yoga in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition,
is the advice to the initiate attempting to achieve a lucid dream that
he should sleep "on the right side, as the lion doth." It is possible
that the purpose of this posture is to encourage the type of brain
activity conducive to lucid dreaming. After all, most of our current
knowledge about reflex points on the body is found in ancient yogic
      texts.

perhaps that's why you manage more WILD's in the Foetus position...are you sleeping on your right side?

I'm usually a free-faller, occasionally a foetus, and very rarely a starfish. I used to be a foetus/log all the time a few years ago. I wonder what the amount of change over a lifetime is on average?

Hmm now that I know this, maybe I'll have some dreams about skydiving or something haha

Starfish, I can not fall asleep in any other way, unless I'm at a desk of course.

I don't really see my go to position there, but This thread made me realize that if I awake in SP it is always in the Soldier position.

I move between positions quite a bit. I cant say I really have one position I sleep in and find it hard to imagine but Foetus or Soldier are probably the most common for me.

Woah, how can anyone sleep in the Log position? I mean, the person would have to be on top of their arm and leg. :0

I'm usually my own kind of Foetus, but I move one of my legs a little forward, so none of them are on top of each other. One hand goes under pillow (Not too much, or it'll be mashed under my head :<) Other hand goes ???. I've no idea, I gotta pay attention to that next time. I think it usually goes under the under-pillow arm...

When getting to sleep, I tend to lie on my sides, but I eventually even out at the soldier position when I do get to sleep.

I'm a freefaller. I don't agree with what it claims I am like though.

I am a freefaller, and I agree with what it says about my personality to some degree. I always sleep on my stomach, with my head rolled to one side.

I'm typically the yearner or starfish. But I have noticed that when I've been lucid I usually wake up in the soldier position...

It's kind of a mix of fetus and freefall, but not very close to either. It's more on my side than on my stomach, except that my body rolls toward my stomach a little from my top leg coming over.
lol. thats so weird that is the most common and comfortable position i sleep in.i some times sleep soldier though but my hands fold and rest on my stomach instead of at my side and my legs cross.

Usually I sleep in a foetus position. Which freaked me out actually. "...tough on the outside but sensitive at heart." sound exactly like me. I aslo tend to sleep in a modified freefall. I sleep in that position but with my arms under my head as a pillow. Even if I have a perfectly good pillow at my side...

I'm pretty sure I hit all those positions before I find one comfortable enough for me to actually relax for more then 10 seconds to fall asleep.

      I'll say I'm a Starfish.

does the position you sleep in really have anything to do with personality? because i'm either the foetus (but only because my room is cold at night and i curl up to keep warm ) or the freefaller, but the freefaller personality sounds like the exact opposite of me. Brash and nervy? I'd say I'm more mellow

The article submitted from Luicidity.com has some truth to it. My sleeping style is fluctuating still. If I start in solider I can go WILD no problem, however this one is hard for me to determine because I can WILD in any position. On another note if I fall asleep in foetus I'll engage more LD's acknowledged while in the dream. I fall asleep on my right side when this transpires as I cannot fall asleep on my left side. If anyone has similar effects feel free to post them.

I've done the WILD's on my right side as well as other sleeping styles but I run into problems with Lucid Dreaming Acknowledged while in the Dream from this position. I tend to get it more from soldier sleeping style and mostly from this position. SP's transpire more from sleeping in foetus position but normally within the dream do I capture it.

I'm a combination of foetus and log. My legs usually aren't quite fully extended.
