Exclamation Good ways to strengthen my Lucid Dreaming that fits into my schedule?

I'm still in 7th grade so I still have to keep up with my grades and stuff.

      -Wake up at 5:00 am

-Finish getting ready for school at 6:00 am

-At 7:15 leave for the bus stop

-At about 7:25 board the bus

-Arrive at school at about 7:35

-Get out of school at about 2:35

      -Get home at about 2:48

      -Do homework at 5:00 PM

-Have the rest of my day to myself

-Go to sleep at about 11:00pm-12:00am (I know that's bad I need to change when I go to sleep, it would be helpful if you could give me a time that I should go to sleep)

So what would you recommend so I can strengthen my Lucid Dreaming? Since I have school for like 7 hours it's hard to practice my reality checks and stuff

Oh, Yes, I remember that schedule well from MS anf HS. As you know it SUCKS! lol. You should definantly be going to bed earlier than 12am if you're getting up at 5am. Maybe 10 would be better. You should be getting a solid 7 hours of sleep at least, just so your body can keep up. Also, I'm not trying to discourage you from LDing by no means, but at this point in your life your education is the most important thing. I know, you proabably hear it all the time from your parents and teachers, but it's true. Just don't loose sight of school, okay, kid?

      Good Luck!

Actually, you have a great opportunity to practice, check this example:

      - If you spend loads of time in your school, worrying about your school, you have a big chance of the biggest income of memories by the time you go to bed is about your school. So your school is a pretty good dreamsign!

What I would suggest would be practicing:
      Sporadic Awareness Technique By Puffin
MILD Tutorial - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views

Basicly, try to convince yourself that whenever you dream with your school, you will make a reality check. It can make wonders to you if it's the case. In the same way, SAT will help you become more aware, which not only gives you more vivid dreams, but also more chances of becoming lucid with a DILD.

      Goodluck

About sleep, try to have betwen 7.5 and 8 hours of it. Doesn't matter when, aslong is around that amount of time. This is because the more sleep you get, the more chances you have of getting a lucid, especially when using techniques like WBTB or WILD. In theory, you should be going to bed at 21pm but remember it's still entirely possible to have lucid dreams with less than 8 hours of sleep. it's just harder

I would go to bed at a time where you could get at least 8 hours, as rem starts towards the end of your sleep.
Keep a dream journal daily, if you aren't already.
Here is my useful guides list, yeah I know it includes the two above! :p

Do you have time to take a 30 minute nap? Maybe sometime around 3:00 or 7:00? You will have to play around with the timing a bit to fit your schedule, but those both tend to be magic times for lucid dreaming. You should drop right into REM as you fall asleep in your nap.

Okay, first bear with me, I need to get this out of the way:

OH GOD, YOU ONLY GET 5 HOURS OF SLEEP A NIGHT?! HOW ON EARTH DO YOU FUNCTION?! Seriously. That's just terrible. I mean, that's like 40 cakes terrible. I mean you're probably averaging a total of like 20 minutes REM (dream) sleep per night.

So yeah...go to bed earlier. You need 7-8 hours of sleep minimum. Probably even more, like 9-10 hours, because teenagers need more sleep than adults do. Just getting enough sleep will make a huge difference.

Once you got that down, I recommend MILD. You don't need to do anything during the day, you don't need to wake up in the middle of the night, you just spend like ten minutes before bed and that's it. I mastered MILD while I was in middle and high school, and I started at about your age. I wrote a tutorial for it that's in my sig if you're interested in learning more.

Yeah, five hours of sleep will slowly destroy you. If you are a night owl and don't want to get to bed earlier, try to squeeze in more naps throughout the day. Again, naps, naps, naps. They are amazing.

This Naps usually contain REM sleep which is proven to be the only beneficial time to sleep, as your only sleeping for 5 hours you probably don't get much of this, because REM occurs more later on in the night.

I hear you all when you say he should get more sleep, and I agree. But are we forgetting that puberty shifts circadian rhythms ? Johnnyboi, try to at least nap on the weekends if you cannot find time during the week to sleep. I agree that you should utilize school as a major dreamsign. Hell, I'm 25 and I still have dreams about grade school. But please don't lay in bed an hour earlier if you aren't tired at all. This will only frustrate you as you toss and turn without falling asleep. I bet you probably sleep in till almost 11am on the weekends, right? If it wasn't for the ass-backward western model of education, you wouldn't be hauled out of bed at 5am when your body wants to stay asleep for another 5 hours. The silver lining however is that you probably get some pretty wicked REM kickbacks on the weekend. I highly recommend that you only seriously attempt to LD on the weekends. Do MILD each and every time your head touches your pillow, and hold off on WILDing until the weekend.

Seriously, don't lose track of your schoolwork, though. You have your whole life to dream, and I understand your urgency. If you can't do anything other than be on this board for now, that's perfectly okay. There's plenty of time, and saturating your brain with LD culture will get you much further than you'd think!
