Whenever I fail to write down my dreams for a while, will my skills (recall, inducing LD) drop to 0?

Occasionally I don't write in my dream journal because I forget to not move when I awaken (which causes me to forget the dream entirely) or something like that. This doesn't happen often, but when I go for a few days without using it, I feel that my skill goes back to day one. Is this true? Because I understand that it takes consistency in the practice to get good at it, but if I miss one or two days, I am worried that it will mess up the practice completely. I want to know if this is true.

If your recall is poor to begin with and one step back is 0, then yeah, I guess that's what it will do. When consistant at DJing, I tend to recall 3 - 4 detailed dreams a night, however if I don't DJ then it goes down two a couple snippets of dreams a night. If you work up to better recall through DJing, then when you stop it would would probably drop but not to 0.

honestly it shouldn't hurt it to bad i only remember to write in my DJ like maybe 3 times a week and it doesn't really hurt. what will really hurt your recall and i mean hard is stress. if you been stressing a lot lately kill the lights like 15 minutes before bed and try meditating. you would be surprised how much it helps in the morning

Yeah it shouldn't hurt that bad, in fact 1 or 2 days shouldn't even make a difference unless you are expecting it to happen, leave that placebo in the waking and enjoy the dreams!
