I'm going to assume you aren't very familiar with lucid dreaming by your post.

For one, everybody is different. It took me a few weeks until I had my first lucid dream after finding out about the phenomena, and then after that I didn't have another for one for at least 2 weeks or so. I also went through a phase where I got lucid at least 3 days a week and had multiple lucid dreams on each of those days, but now it's a rare occurrence. I think seasons play a part in all this too.

Having the subject of lucid dreaming fresh in your mind while going to sleep is a good thing; we tend to dream about the things we think about while drifting off a lot of the time, so it's not uncommon to be more prone to becoming lucid. However, if it's causing difficulty sleeping, become more passive about it. In terms of techniques, you could become lucid during your first 90 minutes of sleep due to a DILD (or any point after that) which can then be chained with a DEILD and so on, so don't worry about that too much.

Next time you wake up ''prematurely'', try to catch yourself in the process and don't move anything to the slightest degree. See what happens; perhaps your body will think the mind is still asleep and go into paralysis, making dream-entry more than possible. If you keep at it you'll get somewhere - it's inevitable. All that is required is patience and determination.
