      Skiing / snowboarding lucid dream

      Merry Christmas!

One of my most important dream goals is to go skiing - to travel to the mountains and cruise down fresh powder slopes surrounded by the beautiful views...for free!...and in the safety of my mind!

I'm currently progressing with about 20 LD's so far but do not have the skill required for this kind of dream control yet.

I'd love to hear from other skiers and snowboarders if you've been able to achieve this in a dream and how realistic it was..?

brrrr from a chilly London x

I love snowboarding in real life, so you just gave me a good idea to do in a lucid, but my dream control is bad
      Spoiler for Secret to LDing:

I used to go skiing long ago when I was at school. Skiing dreams, lucid and normal are amazing - the realism varies but when you get a good one there's nothing like it (well maybe flying ). I concentrated on the locales of the places I went skiing rather than on the actual act of skiing to get the dreams going.

That sounds amazing. I've never been skiing (well, maybe once as a kid), but you've convinced me to try tonight.

I am a Snowboarding Enthusiast and I get a lot of snowboarding Dreams Lucid and Non-Lucid. I have trouble with snowboarding in Lucid dreams, sometimes the slope is a complete drop off, or I can't get it to move Or something crap like that.
However in Non-Lucids I have had amazing experiences, I have gone down intense mountain passes, snowboarded resorts I have been to, Snowboarded Near and around my house (It NEVER snows here), Have gone Grassboarding (Feels like snow, except on grass, still intense), Gone snowboarding on lack of snow coverage (still intense). I have also done skiing in dreams, quiet fun as well

I do often get half nightmares where there is no snow coverage, I don't have equipment, the Lifts are shut down, we are procrastinating etc etc

Some Have Been fragments and some have been really vivid, the feelings matched but the physics was way off and my mind's recreation of some resorts is completely hopeless
They say dreaming is dead, no one does it anymore.
It's not dead it's just that it's been forgotten, removed from our language.
Nobody teaches it so nobody knows it exists.
The dreamer is banished to obscurity.
Well, I'm trying to change all that, and I hope you are too.
      By dreaming, every day.

Yeh Nighteyes you've got it! it's that magic atmosphere aswell that is so great, walking around the snowy villages, unbuckling your boots at a mountain restaurant and getting a plate of hot chips (fries!)...or sitting outside with a cold beer in the sunshine watching everyone having an amazing time coming down the mountain

It's such a shame that physics can be off in a dream, you'd think with all our life experience that we'd be able to implement that just as well as producing the other senses. I wonder if it gets better with time and practice?

AustralianFire have you ever had a non-lucid dream that has a strong physics element that later becomes DILD?? I wonder what would happen to the physics once you become lucid...

Haha I love your half nightmare theme of no snow and no lifts that's brilliant! so true.

I find snowboarding dreams to be incredible! For me it's more like "hoverboarding", as often there's no board and I can glide over anything. Even in non-lucid snowboarding dreams I have a great deal of control over the environment and as to where I want to glide. It's like levitaing a few inches over ground.

Such experiences are actually the reason why I tried snowboarding years later. It did not feel the same I still prever the dream/LD version.
