      Was This A Lucid Dream?

Alright this was my first time being lucid and not waking up

My DC decided to do a reality check and found out he was dreaming and started spinning in circles, i then tried turning these guys into penguins but it would not work then i got bored and decided to have sex and then woke up

The thing is, i felt i was half aware i was dreaming and half not, i was lucid for some minutes then i become non-lucid then lucid again

If you knew you were dreaming and attempted to control the dream, then it seems you were lucid to some degree. One can go from vivid dream to lucid dream and begin to slip back into a merely vivid dream. The level of lucidity depends on the level of conscious dreaming.

The thing was if i stopped thinking about LD'ing in my dream i would become non-lucid then i would think about it again and i would become lucid then i just become non-lucid until i woke up

It was as if i had to constantly keep thikning about LD'ing to stay lucid

Yes. I do the same thing. Kinda like when you're meditating, you have to keep the mind alert, and not drifting into daydreams. When you become lucid and conscious within sleep, you have to stay active and remind yourself you're dreaming and that feeds the conscious awareness within sleep.

Sometimes I'll go in and out, other times I'll remain very lucid until I wake up.

It depends on the lucid dream. In some you'll have to remind yourself, in others you won't. Depends on the level of awareness within the particular dream.

And that's kinda creepy. I have a lucid dream today where I was slapped hard on the left side of the face.

That happens a lot. It depends on the dream. Sometimes, you're able to just stay lucid just because you 'don't forget' that you're dreaming. Other times, you'll get sidetracked and forget that you're dreaming. It only takes a second to fall out of that awareness, so you have to try to hold onto it. Sometimes, I'll actually repeat to myself "I'm dreaming, I'm dreaming, I'm dreaming" while I'm just walking around lucid, to keep myself from slipping out of lucidity. It does suck sometimes, but it does get easier.

Lmao. Yup. Sex is almost a surefire way to forget that you're dreaming.
