Boring lucid dreams? Recall+ WILD help

The first few lucid dreams I had were amazing. Everything was so vivid, animated, bright. I felt so alive and had a decent level of control. They lasted for quite a while, and back then I think I had better recall than I do now.
My recall now is either half a dream, or some fragments.

But I've only had about 5, out of 50 or so, lucid dreams that seemed great to me.

Most of the time now, I know I'm dreaming, and walk around, but don't try anything, or I wake up after a few minutes.
I had a LD last night, but everything around me didn't seem real, and I don't remember most of it, and I wasn't being completely aware of my lucidity, almost flipping back and forth. It's like I was on autopilot, and I didn't do anything too interesting. It wasn't any more exciting than any other old dream.

I've been really dissapointed about my recent lucids and recall, and I'd love tips to make my dream life and recall more exciting again.

Also, (this might have been in the dream) I remembered feeling very drowsy and heavy, and kept reminding myself that when I fell asleep I would be lucid. for some reason my thoughts were on black, compressed triangles. Everything around me encased in black and the dream popped up, like a movie screen, bordered in black, and I was drawn into it.
It seems eerily similar to the WILD technique, but I've only had DILDs before, and I woke up at 6 in the morning, having slept through the night.
It might have been a dream about WILD?

I'm also too paranoid to try out WILD because of sleep paralysis. If I break out of focusing during WILD, will I be in paralysis? I've heard some creepy stories of sleep paralysis, and am too paranoid to try it.

NOTES: I often forget to stabilise, and when I do, it doesn't seem to help much
It kind of feels like I'm not really in the dream?
I seem to forget that I can do something fun and exciting, so I just walk around and lose lucidity or wake.

Recall: I see you have a DJ. Maybe you can write more in it, like every detail, even if not exciting. It seems to be crucial to dream recall. Keep in mind, that recall fluctuates for most everyone.
Not aware in dreams: the daytime awareness technique should take care of that. But lucids vary in degree of lucidity - awareness.

I also have dreams, in which I feel sleepy, or I tell someone I need to go to sleep to have a lucid. Then I wake up lucid. Funny part is, that I also experience sensations associated with WILDing. No idea, why or what that is. Although, I do WILD.

No need to be affraid of paralysis. You may never even feel it. I don't. And there is a way to break out of it by changing your breathing pattern. Your body will notice that you are breathing differently than you should and realize you are not asleep and will ease up the paralysis. Link to youtube video (it talkes about OBE, but it applies to LDs as well) Waking Sleep Paralysis: The Holy Grail For New Lucid Dreamers & OBEers - Lucidology 101 Part 2/12 - YouTube

There are also good posts here http://www.dreamviews.com/f79/compre...alysis-126975/ and http://www.dreamviews.com/f79/just-s...t-know-128997/

It helps to make a plan. Write it down and daydream about it, including stabilization. Then when in lucid, you will know what to do. It also helps to talk to yourself out loud when in lucid. Helps you stay aware.

      Good luck!

I agree with gab, if you can elaborate more in your dream journal, even better. For example, in your Mad-Eye Moody dream, you stated that you were in a maze for part of a competition. What did the maze look like? What did the troll things look like? Did they make a noise? What was the weather like during the competition, cloudy, clear, or night time? I know it seems laborious to include a bunch of details, but it does increase recall. I love HP dreams by the way

I agree also, sleep paralysis is nothing to be afraid of. It can be spooky, but I like to treat it as an adventure when it happens. You never know WHAT is lurking about O_O. Make it fun.

One final note, how's your sleep schedule? You getting enough? I have never had a good LD when I was sleep deprived. Oh yeah, when ever you have one of those semi-lucid dreams where you're just wandering around, pick one thing to try to remember. For example, remember to look at your hands. Really look at them, move them around, make obscene gestures with them, etc. That might help stabilize the dream and make it more vivid so you can come to your senses in the LD and do something fun.

      Good Luck Amanda!

That DJ entry was months ago...now I usually write down dreams with much more detail (if I can remember) and often the dream is a bit groggy so I cannot remember sounds or tastes much.
I guess I'm just a little paranoid because I've never done it before, and I bet when I actually pluck up courage to do it, I'll feel silly that I was scared before!!

I go to bed at 10, almost always asleep at 10:30 and wake up around 6:30, although my alarm is set for 7. I've never done a purposeful WBTB, but when I do it's much easier to lucid, even if those lucids aren't very vivid or real.

I've been trying sporadic awareness today, and I might make it the norm for me to try to increase awareness.

I'll try to remember to stabilise too! I usually just walk around and do whatever I come across.

Try stabilizing the first thing you do once you get lucid, then you'll notice a change in quality Some LD's are very fuzzy and can't be done much about though, but you should be able to make most of them stable and vivid enough with a few quick stabilization techniques like rubbing your hands.

Hmm... I had a lucid yesterday, and when I realised I was dreaming I stabilised and the environment felt real, but I still didn't feel conscious inside the dream most of the time.
