Boring Dreams Lately

All my dreams lately have been so boring lately
They seem to be long and vivid, but boring. They mostly contain daily residue, of school. Any ideas for me to have more interesting dreams. I have considered a mantra that suggests more interesting dreams, like "I have vivid and interesting dreams that I recall perfectly"

Any suggestions?

I don't know. Personally I almost never have 'normal' dreams. Even when I was very young, I remember my dreams were always strange. I never have dreams eg about going into an exam room to find that I haven't studied, or any other 'standard' dreams that you read about. All of my dreams contain new places, new buildings, new landscapes, although the people are generally from real life.
I don't know why this happens though. I think I just have an overactive imagination generally - maybe it has something to do with being a musician.
Try letting your imagination run away with you during your waking hours more - try 'dreaming' up new places while you're awake. Or if you're on a long train/car trip at night (and you're not driving), try listening to some ambient music - music that you don't have to pay attention to - and just let your mind wander. That's what I generally do, although I don't do it in order to get better dreams, that just seems to come to me.

I am also a musician and I also have a wild imagination
I find that if i work on recall i get more amped and therefore have more interesting and vivid dreams
