      Interesting and Fun New Discovery!

I recently discovered something rather interesting and fun to play around with. Right after you wake up, when you're still groggy and a little more than half-asleep, you imagine eating something.
The first time I did this, I was in that black void just before you fall asleep or after you wake up (like a brief awakening) and I imagined eating a brownie with chocolate chips. Soon enough, I could faintly hear the crunches of each bite and I could feel the brownie in my mouth and almost taste and smell it. Amazing.
The second time I did this I believe was last night or at least a few nights ago. I simply imagined biting into the corner of a fresh piece of pizza (you know, the amazing first bite that fits perfectly in your mouth?) and felt it in my mouth and could almost taste it. It was so easy. I'm going to be doing this more often!

It sounds like you're just starting the visualization of a DEILD but then not completing it. You're lucky you've managed to stumble upon this naturally, it means it'll be a lot easier for you. You should look up DEILDs, they're a type of WILD. You can use the technique you've described to enter a lucid dream almost immediately after waking up.

This is a great idea. If there is one thing I am good at, it is eating.

What the OP is experiencing are called hympnapompic hallucinations, it's the variety of hypnagogic imagery that forms when waking up from a dream, and is often times easily manipulated.

dontletmesleep...that would be a False Awakening, not a lucid dream.

@Alyzarin: I actually know all about DEILD and I was showing a friend a page on it just an hour ago! Haha. Awesome. I'm still working on it. PS- Awesome name.
