      questions...

I never knew about this lucid dreaming until last year after watching "Waking Life". After the first viewing, I became interested. No luck and time went on. In the past 2 weeks I regained my interest by watching the movie again 2 times. I am pretty sure I lucid dreamed last Wednesday, but not sure. Here is what happened. I was standing near a fountain talking to a friend (I don't recall what we were talking about) but I said, I am dreaming. Everything went black. When my dream came back, I was back with my friend at the fountain, but was unable to get my friend to talk back to me. I said to myself that since this was a dream I am controlling for myself there is no way I can get other people to talk. Meanwhile I could feel my bed, and myself laying in bed. The last thing I remember was saying maybe I am not dreaming after all. Did I do something wrong? Is this not lucid dreaming? I have never before told myself in a dream, that I am dreaming. What did I do wrong? What should I have done?

You had a short lucid dream. Congrats! I avoid talking in a lucid. It has a tendency to pull me right out of the dreamscape.

Yep, that was a lucid dream.
Sometimes a sudden realization of being lucid can pull you right out, either due to excitement, or lack of focus, etc.
If you want to stay in the dream world, just calm down and tell yourself this is normal, you can't get overexcited.
      Hope that helps.
      Keep dreaming.

When you are dreaming and you suddenly realize that you are dreaming that is lucid dream. And I think it is your lucid dream.

Congrats on getting your 1st lucid man! You will find in time, the more you practice building your awareness in your waking life, you are likely to become lucid. Oh and it helps to watch movies related to lucid dreams before bed. Movies such as.. Inception, The Matrix, Waking Life, Vanilla sky, Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, Sucker Punch, ect ect. Just keep reminding yourself before bed that you will remember your dreams. 1st step is increasing your recall (A dream journal is a must) so that you can keep track of specific dream signs, recurring themes, ect ect.

But build your recall 1st, that is a MUST! And don't give up if you do not become lucid right away. Like with anything, its gonna take some practice. So remember when you are lucid next time, to remain calm, because getting overly excited will pull you out of the dream. (As this causes premature awakenings) And just tell yourself that you are dreaming each time something gets a bit intense for you. But i wish you luck on your journey to many more lucids, and remember that you are in control...because its YOUR dream.
Dreams are meant to be used to create ideas. And hopefully, plant the seed of this idea, to another. Which will help build, a very powerful nation.

Glad to know that I did have a lucid dream...although short. I hope to experience another one, hopefully a bit longer.

congrats!! remember next time you become lucid do a reality check then look closely at the detail of your hands in dreams most of the time your hands will look abnormal in some way and touch stuff in the dream like walls and the floor doing this will ground you to the dream.

When I woke up this morning I did ask myself if it were a dream. I looked at the clock, and it was visible. I was able to turn on the light too. The same thing happened in the middle of the night, but I just looked at the clock and went back to bed. I read if I continue to do such practices, I can do so in my dream as well. I also started a dream journal here. I probably wouldn't still remember the dream if I hadn't done so, since I have been up almost 12 hours.
