Can't recall ever talking to someone in a dream?

Am I the only person that can never recall talking to other people in my dreams. I know I have communicated with people in my dreams but I can never remember physically doing so. Even when I have lucid dreams it seems like communication never seems to happen. I'm a very social person in waking life so I don't understand the absence of talking in my dreams, perhaps it has something to do with my priorities?

I remember talking to people in my dreams but I don't recall the whole conversation so you're not the only one.

Recalling every word in detail is very hard, but you can train yourself to do so by focusing on the conversations and which words were used when you try to recall the dream. But I always talk to people in my dreams, talking to DC's once you're lucid is great fun

Yep I realize converstations with DCs are the first things I will forget about a dream. So if I had a dream converstation I like, I need to remember it as soon as I can after awakening.

      My experiences with this vary.
This afternoon for example I remember a complete sentence, in the exact(I'm pretty sure) words as I said them, Its was a punchline sort of unfunny joke that people laughed at because it was a dream~
But on the other hand have I experienced lucid dreams in which I tried to speak verbally, but it just didn't work.
Also do I have a large amount of dreams in which conversations were involved but once I tried to recall the conversations I seem to only remember what the conclusion of the conversation was, not the actual sentences.

My theory therefore concludes the following:
Regular dreams sometimes use these scene switches right? In a way that a dream that lasts only 1 hour could seem like it lasted for weeks. So it just skips to unimportant parts but it feels to you like they did happen. (Example: U begin in your house, later you find yourself outside, but you don't remember actually going outside).

Therefore I think the same mechanism can be applied to conversations in dreams, some conversations don't actually happen in their full length, sometimes probably even without words. Only when the actual words have effect on the rest of the dream, you can be certain of having spoken them.

I hope any of this makes sense.

I have heard that conversations with dream characters are the easiest part of the dream to forget. I don't think it's a big deal and wouldnt worry about it. Next time you have a lucid dream, go and try to talk to someone!

Funny, I was never able to EAT in my dreams, ever, up until about 6 months ago. I wonder if it's some kind of subconscious inhibition?

Last night some boys said some things to me, and I remember what they said. But as far as me actually having a conversation with anyone, I do not recall ever doing so.

The first time I "clicked out" while projecting I do have vague daydream-like impressions of talking to someone, a man I think, on a park bench. Can't remember the conversation. Usually I just click out when I project and only know I have projected because of the click/snap into sensation I feel on return. Never remember leaving or what happened during.

So you're not the only one. I can't think of any conversation I have ever had in a dream, lucid or otherwise.

This is a term Bruce Moen uses that describes the process of leaving the body without being aware you have. It is similar to deep meditation, when you fall into some trance-like state. Not sleep, but something like sleep. You just, essentially, become unconscious, black out, and when you come to time has passed. You weren't sleeping, it's more like those alien abduction stories where someone blacks out and wakes up a few days later. Only in case it was 40 minutes or so.

Funnily enough I had my first conversation last night, or maybe the first one I remembered, and it was an argument with my mom and dad. I was very unhappy with myself for how I handled that. Had to do with my decision to go beyond the Christian faith. They threatened me with dire consequences if I didn't become a Christian again, and I got all defensive, which being the spiritually developed person I am supposed to be this is not how I should, or would handle this. I think I felt or knew somehow that they were threatening to kick me out of the house, which is also strange because I already intend to leave, so what the heck is that all about? It was like watching an earlier, angrier version of me.

      Very strange!

OK, now I'm having conversations all over the place. Weird. It's sorta like when you buy a car, let's say something weird like a Pontiac Sunbird. You never notice many on the road, but all of a sudden, now that you're driving one, they're everywhere!

Hey OP thanks for this thread! I'm now having conversations in my dream. Or I'm remembering having them. Or something.
