thats a great idea!! or you could stand your ground and face your fear in the nightmare and ask it what it represents and then you wont have them anymore. |

Remember 10 dreams when you wake up my ass. |
Spoiler for Secret to LDing:
I am quite doubtful that such a thing is possible as well, but you never know. Even if it wouldn't work, keep in mind that it was a mere example. |
An interesting innovation that could help many people. |
your right xxlhyxx it does have many possibilitys. and i read somewhere to we have around 7 dreams in one night. but 5 is the most ive recalled in one night. |
I give you credit for trying out new things and seeing what works for you best. Honestly different things work for different folks. I don't know if this would necessarily work for me, but I am always thinking and coming up with new ways of remember dreams. |
I've got huge news; we're about to take this a LOT further. |

It's a nice idea, but I wouldn't use :S |

That's where the "listing" part comes in. You can put lucid dreams at the top of the "list." You will remember your LD first, and it will also be clearer than the rest of your dreams. If you don't have any lucid dreams, then you will recall the most interesting dream you had, as well as some others. This way, your chance of having a LD does not decrease. In fact, it may even increase. |
That's not my point. As I said I use mainly the DILD and DEILD techniques, if I forgot my dream (or nightmare) I won't be able to come back to it after waking up (I won't remember it) |
That is very true, however this method is much more than just preventing nightmares. It can help with recalling lucid dreams, and it won't prevent nightmares unless you actually want it to. You could even put a specific nightmare at the top of the list so you could face it head-on. What's even better is that you'd remember it with stunning clarity. |
Yep, I agree with this, the listing you said may work very well and I think I'll try it |
So far, this method is doing amazing things for me. I just had my most vivid DILD so far last night using the "Listing" method. |
This is a really interesting idea! When did you start doing this? Sounds like it could be useful, although I probably wouldn't use it to forget nightmares (when I have a nightmare, my subconscious is trying to tell me something important lol). |
The very first night I tried the dream recall method, I was afraid it would not only help with remembering dreams but help with remembering nightmares as well. I didn't want that, as I've already had a huge deal of nightmares from a few years back. So, I added my own little twist to it and hoped for the best. Sure enough, it worked like a charm. That pretty much leads up to now. I've joined the community here at DV and expanded my idea by huge amounts. |
