      Dream Recalling

I saw some people around the forum saying they could recall up to 8-9 dreams a night.
I can barely remember one, and it's really unclear with almost no details.

But anyway, I was wondering if these people who recalls a lot of dreams, Do they remember all of them at once in the morning ? Or they manage to wake up after each dream ?
And to wake up after each dream, is it just the determination of saying something like " I'll wake up after every dreams tonight and I will remember them" before sleeping ?

Oh, and this morning I had some issue with my radio. I mean, my alarm is actually the radio with music and I could like hear the music in my dream.
In my dream it seemed like a girl turned music on, and it would annoy me so I would turn it off (I don't know how, this is just some impressions I've got left from the dream, as my dream recall is really bad ..) but actually in my bed I was just pressing the "snooze" button while sleeping... all this made me forget almost everything of what preceded this in the dream.

Also I almost missed the school bus from waking up too late, pressing the snooze button too many times while sleeping haha.

I can only remember one or two dreams if I save them all for the morning. If I wake after every dream, I can recall twice as many, and they are way more vivid. Try setting the intention to wake after every dream to write it down. You will be surprised at how easily we can naturally wake ourselves. For example, my alarm clock is not illuminated, so I have no idea what time it is until I roll over and hit the light button. I can still wake up at any time I chose - to the minute! It is pretty incredible to think about.

oh wow, do you mean by saying, waking up at the time you chose, that the night before you decide "OK. I want to wake up at 7:32AM tomorow" and, actually, you will ? that's just an exemple but it's surprising

Yeah I that's what he means. Its sorta of a Mental Clock in our heads and with some determination(determination not stressing over it) you can wake your self up. If you want to better this I would drink a lot of water before bed and when you have to go you'll wake yourself up. <- Will help you later on when you just want to wake up naturally.

mmh. I had read something about that. I can't remember if it was in this forum or not.

I think the article said that, we actually woke up after each cycle for a few seconds before returning to sleep, but that in the morning, we can't remember those.
Drinking won't wake you up, but when your body will wake up after those cycle, it will tell you it needs to go to the washroom.
Anyway, it wouldn't wake you up only for this, since it can hold if easily for the whole night....

Maybe it was on this forum. lol. Can't remember, if I find the source I'll post it..

Well not if you drink enough water and hold it 2 hours or so before going to bed. It all depends on how much you drink. I think I know what article your talking about forget where it was but I definitely know it was on this forum. That's where I got the whole drinking from anyway.

Well, I remember lots of dreams, but recall is natural for me. Anyway, yeah, drinking water or using mantras helps, also, remember, when you wake up in the middle of the night, don't journal the whole dream, it might wake you up too much, so just try to take notes.

i didnt believe it at first, but after a few nights of it happening, i do now.

like i have to be up at 6am, so i say "i will wake up at 6am!" and i will undoubtedly wake up between 5:55-6:05

i still set an alarm for 6:15, just cause i wake up doesn't mean i won't roll back over and go to sleep, heh.

      I guess I'll keep trying..

But it's really discouraging to see that when I dream, I only realize that I've dreamt a few minutes after waking up. .. I have wait and think really hard and then,
I have some images, impressions of what happened coming up. It's a bit frustrating, but I want to keep trying to get better.

It looks like I only know about the dream after I wake up, I can't remember "dreaming the dream" ... If only see it like after I wake up, or at least of what I remember. So if I only
know about it after, how can I realize "oh I'm dreaming" and get lucid ? It's a bit complicated eh.

Well, beyond that issue, I don't think recognizing a dream will be hard, on what I've recorded in my DJ now, they all happened with people I mostly didn't know, in places that I don't
even know about and "storylines" are really weird, really unlikely to happen outside a dream...

haha last night also, I tried to tell myself "tomorow morning, I'm going to wake up before my alarm clock at 7:30" but ended up the alarm clock didn't even wake me up, I woke up at 8:10, wrote my DJ, almost missed my school bus once again. hehehe.

this is how it usually is for me. absolutely nothing for 30secs-2mins, then i will start to recall things. usually if i can just recall one scene, things start rushing back.

there are different levels of consciousness in dreams. like sometimes "you" feel like you weren't even there at all, but other times you can remember the things actually happening "to you" in the dream. the closer you get to that second one, the more likely lucidity is. once your lucid, it (more or less) feels like "ah! here i am."
