Just had my 5th Lucid Dream! But I'm curious of something.

Hey I just had my 5th lucid dream, it was fucking amazing, I can't wait to have more

I did have a question thought. I seem to be having a recurring problem in my dreams (And Lucid)

I try to speak and I have a very hard time. My dream was getting hazy so I tried to yell out loud "CLARITY NOW!" But nothing happened. I almost choke on the words or mutter very quietly. This has happened in normal dreams and lucid, its very odd and I want to be able to use my voice in my dreams.

Has anyone else had this issue?
      Any insights?

      Thanks all, happy dreaming

Perhaps the whole shouting thing doesn't work for you! What you should try instead is to focus on certain things. Like the feel of a wooden bench, the smells of a location you're in, of even the subtle sounds of your surroundings. Just try and take a moment to focus on both everything and the little things.

Well I don't mean just shouting. Like I have a VERY hard time talking, I want to have awesome conversations with DC's.

Even if I just want to say something is very held back.

I have had this before. The more I want to talk, the less voice I have - to the point where there is nothing coming out from my throat. I would say the urge to talk and be heard to making this happen, perhaps not focusing on it too much - by not TRYING to talk, and just talking when it would naturally occur? Otherwise, don't expect your voice to struggle, think 'it will be a clear, loud voice.'

Funny, this happened to me a day ago in my most recent lucid as well. In my case however, I was the only one around and I was yelling at myself to wake up. I was yelling, I knew I was yelling, but nothing was coming out.
(I have this problem where every time I get lucid, I just want to fall asleep/it's very hard to keep my eyes open in the dream because I feel so tired. So I wasn't yelling at my self to wake up for real, just "wake up" in the dream. In case you were wondering why I'd want to wake up when I'm in a LD. XP)

Try to use other ways to stabilize the dream, like rubbing your hands or touching objects; anything that involves your senses, actually.
There are no limits in the dream world, if you can freaking fly, talk shouldn't be a hard thing to do. Just believe you can do it, and you will do it.

I rub my hands a lot in LD's and Im gonna start touching my arm because I find I slip out of Lucidity easily, I love to fly, I still want to talk though. With Practice I bet

I've heard if you want to change things like that within your dreams, then find a way to do it indirectly using an aspect of the dream. For instance, looking in a cupboard and finding some cough medicine, then drinking it. It's based on the principle that you're tricking your mind into beleiving you can talk, so you just can. not basing this off any experience though, but people say it works with dark/fuzzy surroundings and light switches.

I used to have this problem in my earlier lucid dreams. I remember being in a situation where I had to yell at someone to stop, and I couldn't. I tried EVERYTHING I possible could with my voice, and nothing happened. I felt like I was going to choke, and I could feel the neck strain and the sweat from the somehow very physical task at hand.

The way that I was able to speak in that dream was by grabbing a microphone, and swallowing it. I then somehow had my thoughts amplified enough for me to speak them out through the microphone. Since that dream, however, I've been able to speak fluently.

I hope this was of some assistance to you; good luck!

I have the exact same problem...
Next time I am lucid I'll have to try that, thank you!

Of course! Of course it doesn't have to be a microphone, it could be some sort of megaphone haha. Anything you find that will amplify your inner voice should work fine!

It's not reality there is no need for anything to amplify ur voice just use the power of thought if u think it it happens. Not trying to down play what u wrote I just think my version is more simplistic
