      Composing Music while Lucid

Does anyone have experience composing music while lucid dreaming? I'm not talking about just hearing stuff from your subconscious. All i can think of so far is making a piano that paints the notes onto a screen in front of me, like guitar hero but in reverse. then i could remember upon waking.

I play piano and guitar and in my lucids I always see my keyboard and wonder if I write a quick little song, will I be able to remember it and play it after waking up? and will the notes in the dream actually sound the same when playing it in real life? I definitely gotta try it soon.

I know I've heard music in dreams. Good music. But when I awake I don't remember a thing about it. I'd say its more likely that my subconscious is just imagining I'm hearing music rather than actually bothering to make up a song.

B.o.B. had this song titled "Higher" that was basically an incomplete track (one verse and the rest was instrumental breaks with repeated hook). One time I had a dream I was at some club and I heard a, er, re-imagining of the song basically. The basic premise of the song was there, but there was a lot more added on.

Basically I composed an entirely new song in my dream.

As a producer, it would really be awesome if I compose in my dreams and be able to transfer it to waking life.

Does stuff like this deal with recall at all?

I've played a piano once in my dreams, it was really easy! (can't really play the piano..) also, I played a song that I had never heard before, and it was acually very good. Have read about other that have made song in their lucid, so yes, it is possible! but I think it is smart to practice drew recall first

I've played my bass guitar in a dream, the intervals sounded the same way as in waking life; the technique and speed were perfect, though unbelieveable, dreamlike!
Haven't tried to compose anything in a LD yet, I'll post here if I'm able to.

All we gotta do is find a way to record "audio" from our brains. Shit I would release an album every week haha.

I've had one band cover another band's song in my dreams. My dream just took every instrument and vocal and converted it to being played by another artist. Pretty complex stuff from a technical sense. I want to experiment with making music in my dreams, would be really cool if I could take some dream stuff into waking life.

If you recall wondering about it, you'll probably recall the song also. Unless you make something very complex.

I wonder if you can work on your original music in a LD. Some of the songs I've written are missing something.. it would be cool if I can complete them in a LD.

My recall so far from Lucid dreams is close to 100%, as in i can play it back as if it was a video in my head. I can compose entire songs in my head while awake, but i think the advantage of doing it while lucid would be that you could make it appear visually, so it would be easier to write down. I'm going to give this a try the next time i become lucid, ill post back here if it works.

I'm a trumpet / guitar player and the idea of being able to compose music while lucid is very intriguing. It's definitely something I've added to my list of things to do. I have heard music in my dreams, just not while lucid, and it always sounds so amazing and complex. I also had a dream where I watched a friend of mine play their "new" electric guitar, and it sounded really good and original even...

Haha ironic I'm listening to that right now... As for your question of it dealing with recall, yes it would rely entirely on recall, if you composed in dreams and wanted to transfer it to the waking life you would need to be able to remember what you composed. A lot of people actually make music and movies based on their dreams. So you can do it as long as you can remember the dream well enough

Just a quick update, Since my last post i have had one DILD and one WILD. In the DILD i did nothing of the musical sort, just crushed a DC with my mind (was going for force choke but put a bit to much power into it lol). In my WILD however, I could hear music building as the Vibrations from the SP increased, as I popped into the dream the beat dropped and int owent into this awesome dubstep breakdown. I still remeber how it went, but i have no idea how to write dubstep . Oh well i'll try again next time.

That really is too bad cause I produce dubstep.

      Can you beatbox?

um kinda, i have nowhere near the amount of skill to beatbox the song i heard in my dream though.

What programs do you use to produce Dubstep? I have a general knowledge of music production, i've just never gone the dubstep direction.

My family is full of artists and Musicians.
It seems music in LD are made up in seemingly split seconds by your brain.
I wanna compose a song for my Mother to play on the piano!
And maybe a song for me to play on guitar.
