Was I lucid for a moment?

I tried MILD lat night, but I fell asleep after the second time I repeat my mantra, "A dream character will ask me if I am dreaming and I will do RCs in my dream." I had a dream last night, and I recognized what I think is my dream sign, an Arcade. I immediately did reality checks without even thinking, I pinched my nose and had a hard time breathing. I tried to push my index finger through the palm of my hand, my finger didn't go through. So I thought it was real and continued on... The problem is I didn't think I needed to do reality checks at that moment, so was I lucid for a moment or was I dreaming?

Did you, even for a short moment, realize that you were dreaming? If you did, you were indeed lucid for a moment.

It's difficult to say. You would know better.

You can dream about doing reality checks and not be lucid.

You can be lucid and do reality checks and have them fail.

What it comes down to is if you were aware of the dream-state while in the dream.

      So...were you lucid?

The realization usually comes with very strong sensation of excitement. Did you have a holy smokes! moment? If yes, you were lucid. If not, I guess you have try again tonight and realize you dreaming. You can do it! Happy dreams

Doesn't sound like u where lucid dreaming, can't say for sure though.. Seemed to me like u did a RC out of habit if i read it right, that's not the same as having awareness that ur dreaming. "So I thought it was real and continued on..." if it was lucid, ur where probably only for 1-2 seconds lucid dreaming. But only u can now for sure.

All successful people men and women are big dreamers. They imagine what their future could be, ideal in every respect, and then they work every day toward their distant vision, that goal or purpose.

It's best to have failure happen early in life. It wakes up the Phoenix bird in you so you rise from the ashes.

I think I dreamed about the RCs cause I didn't have the "holy smoke" moment until I remember the dream. I'm not in the habit of doing RC in real life cause I've only read about them 2 nights before. Thank you guys for the answers!

Even if you learned about RCs 2 days ago, they totally could have made it into your dreams, if they made a large enough impact on you. Like if you were excited about discovering lucid dreaming and RCing and all that stuff. If you have strong feelings about it, it might make it into your dreams pretty fast.

That's why it's so important to be excited about lucid dreaming and when you RC and do awareness training. The excitement amplifies your intent to lucid dream. Hope this helps

One comment... you said it was hard to breathe...as one who relies on the nose pinch, remember you should get no air at all. If you get even a little, keep breathing. If you cannot 100% block breathing you are in a dream. Dont be fooled by 'almost' no air. Happens to me alot that at first only a little air comes through.
