I recall mine a bit differently. Instead of writing them down immediately when I wake up, I lay there first, and try to remember all the details. I try to memorize them as much as I can, and try to remember the story line and characters. I do this over and over until I have a very good and detailed vision of what I just dreamt. (Almost like reliving it.) Then I write them down in my written journal. I realized that I always forget details when I write them immediately when I wake up. This is because when I write, the writing part itself requires me to think and focus about what I'm writing at that moment, and it makes me forget all the other things about the dream. But this is just my way, don't know if anyone else does this. x) Good luck

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

Yeah, someone else suggested this, but if I lay and try to think about my dream, it starts to slip from memory! Maybe because I write a lot for a living, then writing helps me get it out? I dunno, i guess you have to find what works for you, not everyone will be the same!

      Ooh, their breath is warm
      And they smell like sleep
And they say they take me home
      Like poppies heavy with seed
They take me deeper and deeper
