So this morning was my first attempt at lucid dreaming, and I will be honest I am still terrified of what my results will be, but I slept terribly last night and woke up early this morning and decided to try it. I laid on my back in as comfortable position as I could be (I don't normally sleep on my back so it feels weird to me) and laid there.... and waited.... and waited... My mind was thinking of course to keep itself awake but my body was absolutely still, breathing normal, just like I was trying to fall asleep. After a while I thought I was getting close, my leg started to itch, then my foot started having an odd muscle spasm, and I felt a sort of floating feeling, but still nothing. Finally I got very uncomfortable and wanted to roll over but continued to wait, and wait... I finally gave up and checked the time, I had been absolutely still for 40 minutes. Was I doing something wrong? Does everyone else usually take so long for their body to fall asleep? Also can I try lucid dreaming in a more comfortable position (ie, my side, or my stomach?) |
