      Question Body Wont Fall Asleep?

So this morning was my first attempt at lucid dreaming, and I will be honest I am still terrified of what my results will be, but I slept terribly last night and woke up early this morning and decided to try it. I laid on my back in as comfortable position as I could be (I don't normally sleep on my back so it feels weird to me) and laid there.... and waited.... and waited... My mind was thinking of course to keep itself awake but my body was absolutely still, breathing normal, just like I was trying to fall asleep. After a while I thought I was getting close, my leg started to itch, then my foot started having an odd muscle spasm, and I felt a sort of floating feeling, but still nothing. Finally I got very uncomfortable and wanted to roll over but continued to wait, and wait... I finally gave up and checked the time, I had been absolutely still for 40 minutes. Was I doing something wrong? Does everyone else usually take so long for their body to fall asleep? Also can I try lucid dreaming in a more comfortable position (ie, my side, or my stomach?)

I'd pick a comfortable position to your liking, and do you experience Hypnagogia or Tittius? If so focus indirectly and observe them by listening to the ringing and watching the hallucinations(on eyelids). Sometimes when my Hypnagogia is at it's most vivid I usually scan through all kinds of images with vivid sensory detail. Does your eye sometimes twitch?

I do not use comfortable positions for a reason. Falling asleep and loosing awarness is no good. I must be in a formal positon that is a small bit uncomfortable. This way the body can fall asleep but the slight discomfort keeps my mind active

Do check out thee DVA WILD class. The teacher is Sageous and he is very wise, you will get everything there. Good luck.

hey idk if you still need an answer , but I don't understand tutorials that say lie on your back, don't scratch, don't swallow...Whenever I followed them, I'd just lay there for hours.
It doesn't take patience, it takes commons sense to realize that those methods were not written for people like us. Don't worry about strict rules, just make sure your body is relaxed (lay in w/e position) and act as if you are going to sleep.
I plan on making a tutorial, if it's successful for me. I've gotten really close with variables of WILD and WBTB techniques slightly tweaked to fit me

What happened to me last night was I laid down in a comfortable position, and I just let my mind wander. I was literally about to LD but then my cat came in my room and started meowing loudly and woke me up completely. DAMN CAT! But anyways, all I did was just imagine stuff and not pay any attention to what my body was doing, and my body fell asleep and I was about to enter the dream world. And this only took me less than 20 minutes.
      Oof.
