Does this count as a lucid dream?

Okay, so something happened to me this morning that I thiiink is a lucid dream, but I am not sure about. Here's what happened.

-Woke up at 5:20 this morning, ate breakfast, got dressed, then laid down for about twenty minutes before leaving my house.

-Got on the bus at like 6:10, then slept on the bus till I got to school at like 6:40, I think. Not quite sure.

-Once I got off the bus, I walked to the library and went back to sleep on the couch. This is where the dream happened. I first remember walking around a area that looks like a very bland library, as if I were in Minecraft, and I did a whole bunch of things, like fight a dragon, and launching myself into the air. I also remember looking at a Batman comic book, and although it said it was written by Frank Miller, the art looked like it was more 1950s style Batman, plus there were no words on the cover, and the front pages seemed to be made of construction paper and had two calenders printed on it. That's what I remember. Bell rung at like 7:04 and woke me up.

Now I did seem to realize at some point that this was a dream, at one point even saying "Oh, it doesn't matter, this is all a dream anyway" (but that's about it). I think what had happened was that I had the dream so soon after falling asleep in the library that I got confused as to whether or not I was in the REM stage or not. That and I think I was confused at first as to whether or not it was actually a dream at all. What do you guys think?

Sometimes it's kinda hard to tell. Doesn't really matter if it was REM or not, since we can dream in NREM also. And because of the time when you slept I would say it counts as WBTB, after some hours of sleep, you could have very easily gotten into REM right away after falling asleep.

Usually, but not always, the "holly crap I'm dreaming" moment is accompanied by a strong sensation of happiness and surprise. It doesn't sound, like you experienced something like that. Did you feel any emotions when you said "oh, it doesn't matter..."? Did anything in the dream change? Did you suddenly feel, like you are part of the environment, instead of the usuall dream feeling?

Sometimes you don't really remember the moment when you get lucid and therefore question your lucidity, even though you might have known all along that you were infact dreaming and did all those amazing stuff. It's tricky, and in the end it's up to you. I usually don't count lucids that I'm not sure of, you can have dreams of being lucid but you're really not. People usually call those "fake lucids" or "semi lucids" but there's really just "lucid" or "non-lucid."

Lucidity just means that you know that you are dreaming. It is possible to dream that you know that you are dreaming, if that makes sense
Sometimes dreams can convince us stuff that doesn't make sense. For example this night I had a lucid dream where I met a person I thought I knew, only to wake up and realize that I had no idea of who it was. So it was lucidity yes, full awaness no...
It's impossible for anyone but you to decide wether it was a lucid dream or not. I think awareness is a better term of knowing your state because a lucid dream can be anything from:

Knowing you are in a dream, but trying to convince your dream character that they are dreaming, to knwoing you are dreaming but also having full control of the dream, know that your physical body is in a bed, dream characters aren't real and they themself know that they aren't real!

I kind of repeat myself about this all the time... But I think it's important to get the information out there. But I use Reece Jones "Layer of lucidity" (Layers of awareness) and there you can clearly see how aware you were if you compare it to your dream. The goal aren't and shouldn't be only lucidity but also more awareness! More info about that is in my DJ description.

Wake-Back-To-Bed (WBTB) is when after at least 4.5 hours of sleep you get up for anywhere from 5 min to 1 hour in order to wake up your mind just a little, and than you go back to sleep to WILD or to DILD. But mostly WILD. So you getting up, going back to sleep after some time and repeating was that. Please ask, if you have any more questions. Happy dreams

Aight, so I tried to get the same results again today, taking into consideration what you said, and sure enough, I was having another dream. The dream even took place in the exact same library (except all the bookcases were gone for odd reason.) So yeah, I suppose I'll be using the library as a testing grounds of sorts for lucid dreaming, lol.
