It is probably because you normally have 2 eyes. When in a dream you only have 1 point you are looking from, normally. |

This is the only term I could think to compare my question to. This is a little clumsy but here it goes. Is it common to have a high range of focus during a LD? Normally in waking life I can only focus on one range at a time. Example: If I hold my finger tip at arms length out in front of me and point it at an object, say on the wall, I can't focus on both at the same time. I can either focus on my fingertip or the object on the wall. |

I am not sure if it applies to everyone as well. However, there have been some instances where in a lucid, I can obtain "panoramic vision" and i see large areas and notice all the details at the same time. I can't quite explain it, but while it's happening, it's like I'm focusing on everything as one thing, and all the little details are clear to me at the same time. |

I don't know how to post pictures but google high dynamic range photography to get an idea of what I amtalking about. Be aware that some people edit the effect on their pictures and that is not necessarily what I am talking about but more the degree of detail on different focal planes. |

Sounds to me like it is a matter of physical and biological constraints not applying to dreams. The same way gravity no longer has to limit you, your sense of smell does not have a distance it cannot reach, and your voice is no longer constrained to the frequencies of sound it can emit. Your eyes don't have to play by biological rules anymore! |

Yes I sometimes have 360 vision and it varies between seeing everything or focusing on a point in my 360 vision. However I think it is just a trick of the mind, it just seems like we arefocusing on everything but were actually not. |

I have had this happen once, but it was with my hearing. I was downtown in a huge city, and I could hear every single entity in the city at the same time. It was really cool. What was it that you saw in particular? Where were you? Was there something you needed to focus on that was far away? |

The sailor does not control the sea, nor does the lucid dreamer control the dream. Like a sailor, lucid dreamers manipulate or direct themselves in the larger expanse of dreaming; however, they do not control it. Lucid dreaming appears to be a co-created experience. ~Robert Waggoner

high dynamic range only has to do with the contrast in photographs. Basically its used to capture images where some sections are much brighter or darker than others, without losing detail in either case, but you can research that on your own. |

As far as what I saw, it happened as I was goin lucid. It was my first and only time. I was in the middle of a town I live in on a side street. There is some what of a valley where I was so it allowed me to see for |

(cont.due to glitch) quite a ways. As soon as I was starting through my reality checks I started to do my 360 spin at the same time. I failed at pushin my finger through my hand. I noticed that as I turned everything became clearer. I held my hand up in front of my face to count my fingers for my hand(while I turned still). While everything else was clear, my hand and forearm appeared in double vision. Soon the image of my hand started to stableize and split. The split started at my hand and continued down to my elbow until I had two forearms and two hands sprouting out of one elbow. After that I was completely lucid. I looked around and saw everything in incredibly vivid color and detail from say 0 to maybe 600 yards away. It was pretty amazing, hence the reason I'm asking about it. |

Sorry if I got the analogy to HDR wrong. I have limited experience and understanding with it. |
