Seeing through my eyes was amazing!!

Okay I just had the coolest experience yesterday. Everynight I try to practise WILD to be prepared for later in the night, but something happened this latest time. As I was going to bed I decided to not try this night because I was wrecked, then I was I nearly fell asleep I realised it and I could see my room through my eyes

The best part of this unlike what most people have said on this forum, it was just as vivid as any other lucid I've ever had, I still can't believe I WILDed before even going to bed at night. If I can do it, anyone can, this just shows not to be confined to expectations, always aim high

I always get that sensation as well, never considered that it might be a dream though

Thanks for pointing it out and congratulations to your attempt!

I might start using a blindfold just to be sure....

Off course the seeing through my eyes part was cool but I have that pretty much everytime I DEILD anyways, it's just that this time I did it before WBTB, I just hopped into bed at 10 and bam I was in a vivid lucid.

The first time I experienced this it was overwhelming. One of the best things you can do for lucid dreaming is to develop your visual memory and visualisation skills.

But you know I know when it's a dream
      I think I know I mean a yes

I know it's just incredible, something as simple as transitioning between waking life and a dream can leave such a huge impression, the sensation is something I've rarely felt before.

Did you successfully transition to an ld? (it wasn't obvious from the OP) I haven't managed that yet.

Yes I kinda screwed up the OP. I actually did manage to transition into the dream, and without any prior sleep, guess the brain is more flexible than I previously thought.

I think the biggest barrier to lucid dreaming is people telling you what you can't do. When I told a friend IRL about LDing he had literally no idea what the fuck he was doing. He hadn't heard of any techniques so he thought he should just lie in bed until a lucid dream manifested itself. He did this with his eyes open. He eventually WILDed.

How did you go about entering the dream?

I was inducing self hypnosis, basically just meditation. After I was done I decided to just go to sleep (The meditation helps me get to sleep fast), my mind starting thinking about running through a field and I got caught up in the visualization without knowing it. Then I just realized that I was about to fall asleep so i decided to check what would happen if I proceeded and all of a sudden the room was clear around me, I tried to open my eyes at first but decided to do a few reality checks first, then it just turned fully lucid. I can't really find the divide between in my bed IRL and in dream.

Hahaha your friend is awesome, he must have some determination

how long was your dream? I heard WILDs before sleep sucked and that most of the dreams are just little dreamlits that appear like 3d visual thoughts.

Well for my standards it was certainly short, I'd presume around 10 mins and I also lost awareness without knowing which rarely happens to me, in terms of clarity the LD wasn't exactly amazing but a slight bit blurry and dull like a normal dream.
