      What's this type?

Hey, DV-ers! I'm wondering what method of attaining lucidity this would be classified as:

      Any help?
Try to imagine a life without timekeeping. You probably can’t. You know the month, the year, the day of the week; you have a schedule, a calendar... Yet all around you, timekeeping is ignored. Birds are not late. A dog does not check its watch. Deer do not fret over passing birthdays. Man alone measures time. Man alone chimes the hour. And, because of this, man alone suffers a paralyzing fear that no other creature endures.
A fear of time running out.

This is a WILD. Wake Initiated Lucid Dream which means that you never lose awareness between the waking state and the dreaming state.

I would recommend using a WBTB though instead of doing it at bedtime in order to succeed the WILD. I always WILD at my bedtime but the purpose is flipped, I have noticed that I get more aware of my dreams if I fall asleep with the intention of remaining aware on my mind. But if your only purpose is to stay aware you unfortunately have to wait about 1 h and 30 min + before you can enter a REM dream atleast, it's not full science but it is my experience with WILD attempts at bedtme. ((Unless you are sleep deprived, but that is not recommended).

And if you are really tired and go to bed it's not an easy task to stay aware for even 20 minutes that is told in the guide.

So I would recommend that you read about the WBTB and use this together with this guide.

This is for the sake of avoiding frustration.

But wouldn't it only be WILD if the sleeper first fell asleep and then woke again before concentrating on becoming lucid/lucid techniques?

Yeah your right but WBTB is not an induction it's an aid. But a very powerful one.

This would be WILD but that picture annoys the crap out of me. xD It has so many wrong facts and misguides people.

"Lay down to go to sleep"

It doesn't specify when you should do this. Most people reading this will think they should attempt this before bed. Although it is possible to do this before bed, it is more difficult and produces a lesser quality dream. You should wake up 4-7 hours after falling asleep before attempting WILD.

      "Lay on your back"

You do not have to lay on your back. You should lay in whatever position is most comfortable for you.

"After about 20-30 minutes you will feel a weight on your chest, you may even hear weird noises. You are now in sleep paralysis."

It should take less time than 20-30 minutes. Not everyone feels a weight on their chest or hears weird noises. It is different for everyone. Some people don't even notice anything. READ THIS. It explains all the confusion surrounding SP/REM Atonia.

"If you open your eyes you will begin to hallucinate."

No. You should not be opening your eyes while attempting WILD.

"You can flip a light switch. Flipping a light switch will never turn on a light."

This is a common belief but it is NOT TRUE. For a lot of people, light switches do turn on lights. Just no. This is the same as the pain/electricity myth (Pinch yourself to test if you are dreaming/electronics won't work in dreams). This is only true sometimes.

"Another thing to do is look in a mirror. You will never see yourself."

Uhh..this isn't true at all. It should be talking about different reality checks you can do, not this.

Overall, this picture is horrible. xD DO NOT follow these steps. I have seen this picture shared across social networking sites and MANY people have been misguided by it.

Oh, I know better than all that. I've done my homework. That's why I was grimacing when I saw this in a thread on 4chan.
Maaann... I hung out on that thread for a couple hours answering questions now and then and sharing stories. I even recommended Dreamviews to everybody, and one of them signed up! (does that count as a referral?)

      Nice

It does if they put your username in the referrer section when signing up.

      Er, I dunno... his account's here: http://www.dreamviews.com/members/Oll2/
He lists me under the "How you found us" info section of his profile. Does that count?

I'm not sure xD. You can ask him if he put your name when signing up.

It's still considered WILD if you do it before sleep, it just isn't recommended at all.
