Don't know about the ringing, but it is normal to lose control of a dream and either wake up or have a false awakening. |

I am new to lucid dreaming. I am unable to control it when I fall asleep initially. However, if I wake up and immediately fall back asleep my control takes over. First thing that happens is I hear ringing in my ears as I transition from my uncontrolled dream to my controlled dream. I can know I'm dreaming *an uncontrolled dream* but when I decide to control it, the ringing ensues. Is that something anyone else has experienced? Is it normal for your lucid dream to be too much to control that you wake up? And lastly... this is hard to explain... but I imagine doing real life things prior to waking up from a lucid dream. Like I remember checking my phone and reading my texts. This wasn't a controlled part of my lucid dream but occurred at the end of it. So I'm lucid dreaming, thought I woke up when I didn't, performed normal tasks I would do at waking up (check facebook, grab my phone, turn on my laptop etc...) When I really wake up I have to think about if the end of my lucid dream was real... Did I read that text? Was that phone call that woke me up real? Was that post really on my facebook? |

Well, your first lucid dream is never easy to control, I have no idea about the ringing, that was probably a hallucination. False awakenings UGH, I had one, when your having soo much fun controlling your dreams them boom, you think you wake up, but you realize your still dreaming, but when you realize your dreaming during a false awakening can't you control that? Cause you are aware of the fact you are dreaming, I think so. If you have any questions about things, just ask meh. I know alot about lucid dreams. Lol, I only had two though, XDDD |

False awakening seems to describe what I've experienced. However, at least what I remember, it seems like a seamless transition from false awakening to actual awakening. I don't remember realizing it was a fake awakening until after I actually woke up and realized the false awakening was indeed false. Does that make sense? |

You normally don't realize that it is FA, you just proceed with your day. |

You do not have to have dream signs to RC. I like writing down the things in my dream that SHOULD have triggered lucidity, and then visualize them, and throughout the day visualize that happening and yourself becoming lucid after that. Keep a lucid mindset throughout the day. |
