      Re-live your Memories

Hey guys so I havn't had a post in a long time and had a break from the site, which i regret. School has made it hard to keep a good sleep schedule however i still lucid dream around 1-2 times a week.

I wanted to share with you guys something I have been doing for roughly 2/3 of 2012.

Long story short I have perfected the ability to take a memory from my head and turn it into a perfect scene where my brain fills in the blanks of the memory. I thought it was a good idea to share because since doing this it has brought a huge amount of clarity to my memories and let me really reflect on them. I am 20 and have lived days now at the age of a 5 year old or 8 years old or whatever I like. This is a trippy thing because even though in real life we have already been there. Every second is a second we can never live again. But with lucid dreaming it gets me as close as i can get. Just to see the world again from a 4ft tall kid instead of a 6.4' 20 year old is enough to bring new perspective on life.

I wanted to suggest this to you guys in the hopes that someone else would try this out and let me know what they think or if someone has already done this if they could tell me what they think that would be awsome.

      Thanks guys.

Sounds cool! Never done anything like that. Had a dream once in which I was a little boy, but never tried it whilst lucid.

Yeah you should for sure try it out to see if it is something that takes your fancy, though there are thousands of cool ideas when there are no limits to what you can do

This is something I would love to try in my (lucid) dreams, although I think one might have to be careful if you had a childhood trauma that you had (consciously) forgotten about.
Mind you I suppose you could use the dream opportunity to 'ask' (your subconscious, etc.) or to try to 'resolve' the issue?
I often look back at the past (often with rose tinted glasses) where I would like to relive it, as I found it so much better than certain parts of my life now.
I have often seen old models of classic cars, etc. in my (lucid and normal) dreams. I also have a good memory of most of my childhood, but if I think further back there are one or two vivid 'memories' that I cannot explain.

My life is better now than it was then, so I think I'll pass, but if you had a good childhood, it might be fun.

Wow, I'd imagine that would give a ton of perspective...I think it would be interesting if you relived one of your memories from the point of view of another person (a person who was present in the memory), such as if you have memory of getting into an argument with your brother then you relive the memory from the point of view of your brother observing yourself. I think that could also provide some unique perspective.

It sounds like he is reliving them almost from a Pensieve (from Harry Potter) point of view. Just an invisible bystander. Or from behind his eyes.

I am reliving them in 2 ways, one way is like the Pensieve from harry potter, the other is a first hand experiance which allows the subconcious to talk directly to me... i never thaught about trying to relive them through anothers eyes, though being someone else kinda grosses me out if i know who they are. Aside from that If you had a bad childhood that cant be fixed, my childhood wasn't that great either it was very...solitary... should i say. I also tend to use this technique to re-create myself new childgood memories, even though im 20 now i can still make new very vivid memories by adding people of that time to the dreams while in that state.
