      Semi-lucidity

Sometimes this is what I experience in my lucids:

After get a stable and fully conscious train of thought during a dream, when I try to interact with the environment, my conjurations don't appear as they should. For example, if I want to create a stone wall if front of me for protection against an angry mob, a few things might happen:
      1. No wall appears, there no interaction between the mob and the wall
      2. A semi-transparent wall does appear, no interaction
      3. Semi-transparent wall, mob gets blocked (I'm unsure if the mob can pass through until they reach it)
      4. A fully opaque, solid wall is formed, stops mob.

Do you fellows get these power-levels in your dreams?
And would you consider levels 1-3 poorly achieved lucidity?

Doesn't sound like semi-lucidity to me. It sounds more like a matter of confidence in your abilities in term of dream control. Try using more passive control instead, like turning around or magic or something. Also, I sometimes have problems using powers, but they tend to work after a few tries.

I agree with Matte87. Remember that lucidity is not equal to control. You can be highly aware, yet not be able to have decent control. And at the same time, you can have the best control, yet not be lucid.

Don't worry, dream control with get better with time and practice.

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

This happened to me the first few lucid dreams I had, I would know I was dreaming but have no control whatsoever and the dreams were very short. I have slowly begun to gain more control and skill as I have experienced more lucid dreams.

Try exploding things first like how they do in most fictions like anime for example where they point and blow up stuff.

Point is, dont consider realism for even a second, it may fail you, but if you have to, passive control is whats best as said above

Yes it can happen that your expectations side against you. It happens to me regularily when I want to try make something turning clockwise turn anti-clockwise, for some reason I just can't cope with it. This is however probably the only struggle I've ever faced because I follow a simple rule
      Rule:
Always try using your focus and determination fist, tell yourself that it is easy and will work. If it really doesn't work resort to using a medium like telling yourself you have telekinesis or that you are a god. The simpler and more related to knowing that no rules apply it is, the more likely it is to work reliabily.

If you are having trouble accomplishing anything, maybe try tell yourself at the start of every lucid dream, " I know that no rules apply in this world, everything I do is without consequence, this dream is entirley my creation". Just an idea but it's worth the try.

Most of the times I'm lucid I have very little control, so I know what you mean. I'll realize I'd dreaming but then I'll just continue in the current dream with a bit more awareness. A couple times recently I've managed to change the plot a little, but that's something I'm still trying to learn.

      Thanks for the replies everyone.
This is what sometimes happens: I think "Hey, I'm dreaming, I can do anything!". But then when I try to energy blast a flying spider-octopus, only smokes comes out of my hands.
Most of the time though, my non-powers happen because I feel overwhelmed by the dream situation, so yes it is a confidence issue!
