Hi everybody
I heard about lucid dreaming very recently and I began to wonder if that explained a phenomenon I've been experiencing my entire life.
Ever since I can remember I have been able to recognize that I'm dreaming. It does not matter how realistic my dreams are, I always know that I've left my reality and stepped into a dream world.
Because of that knowledge I'm always able to wake up if I find the dream too scary to continue, and once I tried to control the dream, which turned out to work successfully. But I haven't tried it more than once since I want my dreams to be naturally evolving by themselves even though I always know that they're dreams.
I don't know if that's classified as lucid dreaming since I don't take control of the dreams - I'm just always able to tell them apart from reality. I don't even need to make a reality check.
Another thing that confuses me a bit is the whole sleep paralysis thing. I've never experienced sleep paralysis, but in periods I often get that falling down feeling just before I'm about to sleep. Sometimes even when I'm wide awake.
So my question is if all my dreams are lucid dreams or if it's another phenomenon I'm experiencing.
Thank you
