Red face First out of body experience (kind of)

Last night I was in bed and everytime I closed my eyes, I would still be awake while I was falling asleep so everything would go bright and I heard louds of weird noses, mostly an extreme ringing sound, I couldn't keep my eyes open to stop it so I thought "Let's just get this over and done with, I might even have an OBE". With that said, I stayed still and just observed what was going on, I remember thinking of a song and I heard it play (really odd). After that, I imagine I am in my room so hopefully my dream starts there, next thing I know - I have opened my eyes and I'm stuck to my bed.. I could lift my head but I was like a magnet.. I thought of floating upwards and that popped me out of it.. Now I am fully lucid standing in my room completely mind blown as to how real everything looks.

      Spoiler for Rest of dream:

But the thing is, when I kept falling asleep into Sleep paralysis/NREM (which ever is the correct term), I was dreaming I was doing it. The whole thing was a dream. I dreamed I was having an out of body experience and I become fully lucid and it was extremely vivid because of it.

Has anyone had something similar happen to them?

You can dream about lots of things you think about intensely and often. So you dreamt about performing a technique. Now you know how to do it, try it again with WBTB and you will succeed.

thats interesting. i had a similar experience in which before i had a WILD or possibly astral projection (?) I had an "auditory hallucination" of a deep man's voice talking to me. I was sure there was no one in the room talking to me, it wasn't scary, more like soothing. I can't remember anything it said though. and I still wonder about it to this day. Since then I've had more auditory hallucinations, they are almost always pleasant though. i.e. wonderful piano music. I'm not sure why this happens or what it means. I guess we are just experiencing some sort of waking dream state. Similarly to your experience though, after the auditory hallucination I had a very intense and stable lucid dream (possibly astral projection) followed by a lot of SP and FA.
