      Sparking an interesting dream?

In all my LDs I've noticed that there are never really any stories or plots. It's just me doing my own thing. Because of this I haven't been satisfied with my LDs. The dream scene with I start in tends to be bland. Do you have any tips for sparking an interesting dream. I know I can just teleport to a fun dream scene, but do you guys have any ideas for sparking one (e.g. Punching a guy and getting into a fist fight...)

Read books and watch movies to get ideas for dream plots maybe? I am a reader and a writer, and almost all of my dreams have a plot or at least a sense of direction and a story of sorts. They aren't just jumbled strangeness.

I am a bit of a reader but I've been a bit neglecting of my books these holidays. Thankfully I got a copy of Game of Thrones 3-4 days ago. Hopefully it will seep into my dreams.

I agree with citizen. If you can't think of anything then you need to watch more people that are creative (books, movies, paintings, and (above all) beautiful scenery). This should make you want to create! When you are in a dream you can create anything!

...this is rather demoralizing reading this. I myself am an artist and have always considered myself creative...

I'd try summoning a character from a book or a movie. You'll associate that character with a certain genre and your mind will just make up a story on its own if you let it. Don't try to push things too much in the direction you want things to go, use passive control and see what happens.

Expect disasters or great events to happen perhaps? Why not visualize a huge dinosaur appearing and tearing up the city, and you have to defeat it. If you visualize this alot during the day, it'll be easier to summon it once you're lucid. Opening magical doors and ending up in different worlds. Talk to the inhabitants.

There's endless possibilities, just read other people's DJ's and find inspiration. You also have to be patient and set some long term goals that makes you want to achieve lucidity.

Thanks, summoning DCs is a dream goal of mine so I'll be sure to add a bit of spice in my next LD!

Sorry. I didn't mean any offence. You should go to one of your paintings then. Or like Laberge said that one artist did was go to a gallery and find something you want to draw/paint. Stare at it until you wake up and draw it when you rise.
