Well a lot of people are natural lucid dreamers, so they don't need to go onto a websites to get tips or new techniques, because they have perfected it over their lifetime. Plus a lot of people wouldn't have a lot of time because they would be doing more important things. These 2 combined probably gives you the most likely answer as to why not a lot of people go on forums such as this. |

Well, for one thing, many people may have about one lucid dream per month but it doesn't necessarily mean they know what lucid dreaming is. I was one of those people that just happened to lucid dream about once or twice a month, but for a long time I didn't even know it was called lucid dreaming. The only reason I found Dream Views was because I was interested in dreams in general so I looked up on the internet to see if there were other people who found dreams fascinating and had similar experiences to my own. Through searching stuff about dreams I discovered lucid dreaming and realized that it was what I was experiencing. |

I do believe that the number of active lucid dreamers may be quite high and increasing, but 700 million sounds like bullshit to me. |

i'm willing to bet most people have or will have a lucid dream here or there. but i've found they just aren't that interested in pursuing further knowledge and exploration of lucid dreaming. i'd also say that having about 1 lucid dream per month doesn't exactly qualify you as an "active lucid dreamer".. you can't really say how controlled or stable that one dream may have been. also, i think one of the reasons it hasn't "kicked off" is because its not an exact practice.. something that may work for you tonight in order to induce a LD may not work tomorrow. whereas other skills will always work if you do it the same way every time - i find this to be a major roadblock for many people. |

It's worth remembering that a lot of people experience sleep paralysis and false awakening in combination without knowing what's going on and this combination can be nothing less than absolutely terrifying. |

My LDing record, if you want to hear about it, is about 4 WILDs, 1 DEILD, and the rest DILDs.
