      Losing lucidty possible?

I was wondering if losing lucidity during a dream is possible? You see during dreams, I can remember a lot of details... including for example the intentions my dream-self had when doing something, and even what my dream-self's thoughts were too.

During a recent dream, my dream-self obtained a "dream machine" somehow. This dream machine's purpose was apparently to enter a dream, so to my dream-self who thought my dream was real.. it was a machine that lets you enter a dream while you are still in reality. You basically get inside of the machine and somehow it works like a literal elevator even if there is no floors above or below you. Sounds like some dream-magic lol. Now my dream self had planned to test it out, his intentions being that he himself thought it was a bit silly. So this already tells me I was a bit more coherent and logical in my dream than usual even if by a little bit. So my dream-self chose "candy land" as his first dream, I remember realizing Candy land would DEFINITELY prove the dream machine works. So my dream self was aware enough to know that if he successfully went to candy land, it would mean the dream machine works and that he will then be in a dream. Weirdly enough my dream-self never realized I was in a dream the whole time without the machine.

Now the machine worked, I got into it and it lifted me up, then when I opened the door I was in a bar-like place with people in it... named" Candy Land". Now of course most people wouldn't expect Candy Land to be a bar, because as the name suggests it's supposed to be full of candy. In fact my dream-self had even realized this. However I was more focused on the fact that the machine "worked" so to speak, and I at least realized I was in a dream for certainty. At that moment, things became way more vivid and I achieved lucidity. I guess it was inevitable given my dream-self was willing to realize a situation within the whole dream, was a dream.

However here's the part that becomes relevant to the topic title. when I left the dream machine and went back into what I had considered "reality" during the dream, I think I lost my lucidity. It's a bit hazy, but I remember it that way. Is this even possible?

Edit: also, while off topic... I had a lucid dream even if for such a short time! Huzzah! lol
