      It just doesn't click

I have been doing reality checks and asking myself where i was 5 minutes 20 minutes and an hour ago and writing in a dream journal whenever dreaming pops into my head or at random times for around a week now and while my dreams are more vivid and i remember about 3 a night i'm still in an unchanged daze in my dreams with no awareness or hint of lucidity whatsoever. What am i doing wrong?

Good, you're recalling dreams and at least they are vivid. Getting closer, just gotta stick with it. Maybe try an awareness practice like meditation or ada (all day awareness). That'll help. Are you doing any induction techniques? WBTB, WILD, MILD?

I tried my first wild today and was in the relaxation stage and my mind was starting to wander, then i heard a really loud lightsaber noise in my left ear that snapped me right out of it. What is all day awareness?

If you're a beginner the WILD method might be a little hard for you (like myself), but I've had good results with wbtb. I went lucid on my second attempt! But I also combine it with MILD as I'm falling back to sleep. And here's ada: http://www.dreamviews.com/induction-...kingyoshi.html

Don't think about wether or not you're doing something wrong. It took me a month of doing the same thing to have a lucid that lasted just seconds, than another month after that to have a second short lucid. It can certainly take time and get frustrating but well worth the wait. I'm about 2 weeks since that so you're not alone taking a long time.
If you're ever fed up with life, try having kids. It'll never be the same...
Plus you can do all that cool kid stuff again without looking like a creep. Bounce House, here I come!!!

Agreed. You might feel like you're not going anywhere with what you're doing, but the truth is that every attempt is a learning experience, and everything you are doing lucidity-related ultimately contributes to the lucids you have in the future.

Try doing your techniques with WBTB (also experiment with the amount of time you stay up because it is different for everyone), and definitely work on awareness in waking life!

If you're interested, you can join a class in the DreamViews Academy if you feel like you need some personalized guidance from the teachers and other students: DV Academy

      Good luck

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

The fact that your dream recall goes better and dreams get more vivid is already an sound of progress.
Keep going, and i would also suggest doing an RC every time when you wake up if you aren't already, you might have chance to get an easy DILD from false awakening.

You know, everytime I realize I'm lucid I get this incredible intense feeling of "omg, i'm lucid".

I believe, you missing this feeling. But of course, before you feel it in your dream, you have to feel it in your waking life. I realy suggest yo add emotions to your RCs.

Here is an excerpt from Collection of techniques for DILD:

      AWARENESS +RC TECHNIQUE:

Ask yourself a question "Wow, am I dreaming?" that jolts your attention and makes you stop doing whatever you doing. For a moment, entertain the idea, that you are sure this is a dream or false awakening and feel the excitement in the pit of your stomach. Just pretend, that you have had a lucid dream before that was indistinguishable from waking reality, so this moment could also be a dream and you don't know for sure until you RC. Really consider the answer. Don't just automatically answer "Of course I'm not".

Look around and notice details. Look at your hands and count your fingers. Do you have the right amount? Do they look normal? Do a reality check. Try to gently push your thumb through your palm and expect it to go through. Is it going through? Pinch your nose and expect to be able to breathe. Can you? Can you levitate? If not, tell yourself "Next time I'm dreaming, I look at my hands and realize I'm dreaming". Repeat this mantra a few times while looking at your hands.
Pretty soon, this behavior will start manifesting itself in your dreams and you'll be asking yourself if you dreaming, while in regular dream. That will make you lucid. You will do a couple of RCs to make sure.

RCs by themselves don't get you lucid. They will help you realize it, but not before you have a spark of awareness just out of the blue, or because you notice something strange and
you were RCing on strange things.

Here is a post about RCs (#7)

Every time you read, post, talk, think about anything lucid related, you get one step closer to your first LD. Believe it or not, that's how it is. Our mind is a wonderful thing and it pays attention to what you do and what you think and what you intend to do. So tell it what you want.
