I asked, "please, cure me of these disorders" he said, "it's for your own good, they're dangerous." I just said, to this all powerful being, who was getting angry, "trust me.".

The next day, I woke up, and it was amazing. Lucid dreaming improved my life so much, and since, not only am I cured, I don't hate anyone and don't care what anyone thinks of me. I could go out into the street in horrible clothes and start singing, and I wouldn't feel embarrassed lucid dreaming made me into a better person.
are you serious, I have severe social anxiety but I was not convinced that any thing could be done about it in a lucid dream.

I can see it being possible. Another method other than the one uglyian used that might help could be hanging out and talking with DCs for practice in waking life.

I'm pretty shy and I think this would help me a lot.

Yeah, totally. I don't see why not.

Lucid dreaming is one of those hobbies with the power to change your personality. It's as powerful as that. A lot of it is because of the preparatory practice of greater self awareness: once you become more aware of self, you can change yourself, and in fact I would say that you are likely to. A person who is more self aware is unlikely to be the same person as before self awareness. One can do a lot of self improvement based on that, once one becomes aware of what needs to be improved. The secret of lucid dreaming is that controlling one's dreams is just a part of it: it's the having greater control of oneself that is even more rewarding. Can one limit greater control and awareness to dreaming only, no and nor would one want to.
